I'm in college and I don't have long to switch out my VTrim and put this one in. So I was wanting to get as much information as I could before I started to do the switch. I've never done this before so I'm going to need a more help than most.

The oil feed line comes off the head, I asked FP were I was to drill the hole but they said there is a bolt already on it that I just unscrew and put and banjo bolt in and connect oil feed line to this. Where is the bolt on the head? Could I just go from the oil filter housing if I have the inline filter? Would that create enough restriction or not?

The drain line will be a sinch, now the water lines is there anything I need to buy to get these to work or will they go right in? The turbo is water and oil cooled so how do I know whre to put the water line and where to put the oil line or is it pretty self explanitory once I see it.

Do I need to buy slimmer fans or do you think there is enough clearance with the stockers (Bought the tiall 44mm with v-band, if that helps)?

Please tell any problems that I might run into or any tips. If someone knows of a good install guide that would help me out greatly too. Also about how long would this whoole process take me do you think?

I really appreciate your help,

I have 3065 .I used 1g water lines and bent them a bit here and there.I used fal slimline fans doubt stock fans will work. I took oil from head you need restrictor there is one in their oil feed filter which is good idea but you should check that filter whenever you do an oil change.
I would talk to fp directly if you are going to run oil feed off filter housing rather than head.

You may need some rubber hose to extend some of the coolent lines but you should be able to bend the stock lines to work with this turbo. Normally oil feed is on top of the center section, return on the bottom & the feed/supply are the back & front. Most of the time they also use different fittings/threads so you should have any issues. There will be a small allen head bolt on the left side of the head at the front (passenger side), this is where you take the feed from. Make sure you run an inline filter and looks like the feedline will already come with with a restrictor from FP. These turbos don't like high oil pressure & the pressure at the oil filter houseing is higher then at the head. An advantage of running it off the oil filter housing is that the oil there is freshly filtered while the tap at the head is basically the end of the line. Best to talk to FP to see if they recommend it from the filter housing & you would probably need a larger restrictor (ie smaller hole to make a larger restriction). Like AL92 said, check the inline filter regularly as your turbo will depend on it. At every oil change is a good rule.

I talked to FP about the oil feed line and they had told me that I was to take it from the head so that will probly be what I end up doing. I'm guessing this inline filter is going to be easy to get on and take off. Would I then just run it through water after every oil change?

What size is the rubber that would be needed for the water lines does anyone know? Could I just buy the hose and run it around the turbo so I wouldn't have to bend the pipe or is bending the pipe not that big of a deal?

Is there anyway to put the water lines on ass backwards?

A couple of those questions are real nit picky I'm sorry for asking them I just want to be sure,

Here's a profile you may want to check out, Steve's running the 3052.

You can see the oil feed in one engine shot. He's running FAL slim fans but look to have a good amount of room. If you have the stock rad stil, I think you should be able to get the stock fans to fit. As for the collent line if you still have your metal feed/return lines that attach to the stock turbo just take them to your local autoparts store & get some rubber flex coolent hose that will fit these. Most of the time the turbo will have a specific coolent in/out so you will want to find out which way this turbo is setup. As for bending the metal coolent lines, its pretty easy as they are fairly soft. Just do small bends at a time and make them nice smooth radiuses, if you try to bend it to shap it will start to kink. If you do it nice & slow you will see the kink starting before it gets to big. Hold the bango bolt end in a vice (pertect the sealing surface ofcourse) and insert a phillips or robertson screwdriver into the water pipe to make your bends, this help to make them nice & smoth & helps preventing them from collapseing.

the banjo bolts are included. definately get some coolant lines to extend the stock ones. the water feed will be crimped behind the compressor cover.

As far as the oil feed lines go, I've had my 3052 for almost three years, daily driven with about 30K miles on it and I have the oil running straight from the stock location with a steel braided line with no problems. Hits 27psi at 3800.
