Im of the opinion at THIS point Keltalon is trying to hurt ffwd. Its gone beyond what was stated in the first post. Now its "ffofh needs to be modded or it'll destroy your engine". Seriously, with no data???? No one has had this happen. Who in their right mind would buy in to this. Its beyond me.......

This is just outright slander now. Kel: you have to tone it down a bit. Until you've got hard evidence backing you, you cant just attack a product ffwd sells. Its going to hurt your credibility, which im sad to see. ffwd will be just fine.

You went from stating it was an issue on your car to stating it effects ALL cars.

You are on the click also? Shame shame shame! Your words here is another attempt by the click to find fault. FFWD didn't make the filter, mitsubishi made the filter housing. So how is the flaw attributed to them? I certainly didn't say they were responsible for the flaw. They have a vested interest in the housing true but flaw is let's just say needs to be fixed! They didn't know this beforehand it not their fault and I am certainly not trying to hurt them. People aren't buying it because they know something is not right with a housing that bleeds all the time and I don't blame them! Next!

Cliff note of importance.

Before modifying anything, properly test your oil pressure to see if you need to modify anything.

Testing it with the hole plugged would simply show a higher oil pressure reading. Which has already been shown as higher then it needs to be without modifying the hole. And let's not forget this housing has already been modified by porting the relief valve which has been properly tested to show it lowers pressure! So there is no need to test it with your "modification" being it was shown it isn't needed on this engine setup.

The best answer to this whole debacle is what I typed above to pipnorcali.

Dude porting the relief has nothing to do with idle. Come on man!

Ill be testing more. It'll be for a different thread. That way noobs that need good information won't have to get bored reading through this and jump on a mod that isn't needed. A mod that can cost them money they may not need to spend.

This my friend would be a course of wisdom! Because as long as this thread is open it will be defended because no one needs to even think running one of these ffofh is okay!

Dude you and your comrades are victors of nothing. It's virus clicks like these the reason big names in the dsm game refuses to post here on tuners. I knew your test would be without bias being that you are for proving me wrong. If you in your right mind think hooking up a Guage to your car and not test the modded filter at the same time of said test is victory its not and is very shameful , shows ignorance and is one sided! To help the forum is to test both and let us see the difference and we make a choice based on that. You didn't do that. And if you did you are not willing to post numbers of the modded filter for fear of exposure of you and your clicks lack there of of knowledge. Lol

Oh how did I predict your where going to say all this. That's ok because your so quick to jump the gun. I don't have a filter housing on my car yet. What makes you think im 100% done with testing??

Common sense would tell anyone that if your pressures to high, that you have no need to make it any higher. That most would say "well no need to test the other because we have what we need" But again im not done.

How about a 286K mile 1G that's all stock?? Or how about one that's just a tad over 200K that has tested with the stock water cooler OFH to have stock oil pressure at idle of 11-12 psi??

Dude porting the relief has nothing to do with idle. Come on man!

You sure it doesn't change idle oil pressure??

Because as long as this thread is open it will be defended because no one needs to even think running one of these ffofh is okay!

And still we have no Admin or Mods dealing with this wild blanket statement.

Somebody says "You will need a built engine because stock will blow up at XX psi" and they are all over that sh*t in an instant.

What's the deal here? Afraid to censure someone who's paying to be a "VIP" member?

Cash over integrity?

This makes no sense otherwise.

Are you looking for an answer to that question or just running your chops! If you don't know the answer I will pray for you!

I'll throw in my two cents, you'll have to forgive my lack of exact numbers but I think I'll get the point across just fine. Car was a HX35 powered 91 Eagle Talon with Balance shafts eliminated. Car was used for light road course duty. Orginally the car was running a forward facing oil filter housing, to which in my particular setup was supplying around 70 psi of oil pressure to the turbo at 7500rpm (T'd off the turbo feed line, was very careful to be within Holsets desired pressure range) As we tracked this car one season be began to get a little concerned about the way our oil temps would ramp up and decided it would benefit us to return to a standard 90 OFH and add an oil cooler. We once again checked oil pressure at the turbo and had 85+ psi of oil pressure at the turbo. So we hogged out the OFH, got our oil pressure where we wanted them and moved on.
In my case, a standard FF OFH was perfect. And welding that hole would have pushed me over specs of my turbo. So I'll have to say your blanket statement above is incorrect. Running a normall FFOFH was VERY "ok" for me

So Running a normall FFOFH was VERY "ok" for me
But you changed back I don't understand how you are helping the click? If was okay for "you" why the change. This is what I am talking about people want it to be okay but it's not!

Proof the pressures changed but not a chance of it blowing up an engine.

You can read.

His pressures where right on the money with the FFOFH. The other housing the pressures where to high. If he welded the FFOFH his pressure probably would have been to high. Proof the housing doesn't have a chance of ruining his engine.

Not to mention, the type of racing he does is the worst case scenario for our engines. If he was to lose an engine due to lack of oil he would've before any of us would've.

But you changed back I don't understand how you are helping the click? If was okay for "you" why the change. This is what I am talking about people want it to be okay but it's not!

He needed to use the air-to-air heat exchanged of the 90 OFH to keep his oil temps in check on the road course...

Contrary to popular opinion yes I am a very good reader! Pressure was on the money for whom? Certainly not on the money for me that's why I modified mine!

Why'd I switch back?

As we tracked this car one season be began to get a little concerned about the way our oil temps would ramp up and decided it would benefit us to return to a standard 90 OFH and add an oil cooler.

Please read what I said before you jumped the gun and accuse me of helping any "click". I was just adding a real life example, instead of thumping theory

So then this whole thread thrives on "Kels" personal beliefs not what the dsm population goes by and Mitsubishi standards. Got it :thumb:

His test show that running a FFOFH didn't need to port it out. Are we on to something? Have we been porting out the OFH when all we had to do was just drill a small relief hole?? :hmm:

Not only does Keltalon not know what his pressure was/is, he never knew if he had a problem in the first place. This was pointed out way back by Land Speed.
This thread indicates Kel may be imaging his own problems so he can advertise how he is fixing them. More disturbing is he may not be aware that this is what he is doing. I have not seen anyone from kel clique (click) chime in with measurements showing low oil pressure either.
