I am down for the $1. And I am looking for something that is functional, but still asthetically pleasing you know? Something that is more race care like. And I think 1g's are beautiful peices of art!

To be honest i dont think it looks good at all. I dont think you'd have a market for it considering the 1gs are pretty ugly already. kind of like putting a dress on a pig. Most 1g guys dont have it ### it looks pretty but because they can runs low 13's bone stock. But if you really want to do it theres nothing a lot of money and time cant make happen
ROFL

I want one of those "bone stock low-13s" 1gs, damnit.

You take that back right now! 1Gs are sexy as hell.

Another problem that could be ran into is licensing, or copyrights/patents. Since the car is a one off piece, there may be some type of licensing preventing the re-manufacturing of that style of body parts again.

Patents only last 20 years, and it would fall under a design patent that only last 14 years from the time granted. The Fittipaldi was 89-90 car so that original patent wouldn't be valid.

It would be too small of a market to try to produce and sell these. Let alone every dsm owner is cheap and most do not want body kits. If I was the owner, I would not let anyone make molds.

Well if you get China to make some crappy copies you won't have to worry about stealing patents and others design infringements.

I really don't get it though, a stock Talon looks great, the Fittipaldi is nasty, it's rareness must be blinding.

What are you smoking newbie? Your facts suck and your opinions suck even more.

Take that back man!! it looks great.

I guess I really didnt think the idea of this whole thread through. i think something like this just happened :aha: But in all seriousness it was an idea that wasnt well thought out on my part. Just something that woulda been neat but is starting to look like a fail for an idea. I like the way my 1g looks but then I also like the race car (not RICE car) look of a functional body kit that opens up for cooling and possibly downforce and stuff like that, the canards look and the race wing on back. Similar to that 2g race body kit thing that another member is putting together. Something like that for a 1g, yaaa, that would be cool.

Call me crazy but I like the factory 1G Talon better. It is a cool special edition car though - those seats are pretty sick looking, as is the rest of the black interior. Would be pretty cool to have, but I can think of a lot of other cars I'd rather buy with $15k.

Ya but how many of the other cars are a One of One? huh? :sneaky: And yes the factory 1g's do look good, but I wish there was a few options to have something close to stock but still add a little flare to it and set it apart from "just another 1g".

Cut giant bumper holes. Most of the attention will be negative, but it's attention. ;)

That is the end route I probably will take, I just didnt want to cut up my bumper if I didn't have to, but alas, it is the most practical and cheapest way of doing things. I used to be all about that with my bronco, but for some reason with this Talon I want to do things differently, maybe hacking isn't so bad...

I'm surprised so many people are hating on the looks of the Fittipaldi Talon. If I remember correctly, the majority of people liked the look of it in the thread about it. As others said, I'm sure it will never happen because it simply won't make the developer of it any money, but I do personally like the look a lot.

Hell, go for it. It's a one-off of a car that has a community numbering well over 100,000 people. Not to mention, it would be properly taken care of, and not driven to Best Buy for an amp install...

really? 1gs are ugly??? :ohdamn:

"said by an owner of 3 2gs".

I would have to agree with this guy. I have owned both, My favourite in order is 2gb talon, 1ga talon, 2gb eclipse 2ga talon 2ga eclipse.

Dont really care for 1g eclipses or lazers. Unless you put the talon tails with the 5 piece spoiler.

I agree that its cool because its one of a kind but I can think of better ways to spend $15K. I'm also not sure that there's enough of a market for a body kit, even if you went through the hassle of having molds made which isn't cheap.
