Front bumper mods - appearance and air

Nope - doesn't move at all because I still retain the crash bumper and the styrofoam. The upper hole didn't need any trimming of the crash bumper at all - I only trimmed the lower section more for a bigger FMIC opening.

nice. I have another brand new bumper that I am going to cut before i paint and install. I am not sure where I am going to cut though. I am going to make it as functional as possible.

the bumper looks really nice with our without the mitsu emblem
but for the most part on the topic of bumper mods and airflow does anyone know the best way to mod a stock 92 GS bumper for optimal airflow?
sorry the post hijack xD

Looks good now that I can see the full car. I like it w/ no emblem but we'll see once its on there. And the lip idea looks good too. Depends how low your car is though..shit might scrape on everything.

it does remind me of a spev v....but not bad

and GSX, urs looks amazzinng, great work...

I have a picture of a 2g that photoshopped an evo top grill in that spot and it looks amaazziinnnggggggg....so sexxi....but im using my sidekick so I can't upload it...

any1 know the picture im taking about? its a red and black 2g...

OK, so the lip finally came and after 2 weeks of poison ivy and laziness, I finally got around to putting it on. Sorry for the shitty pics, I'll get a couple more when I get it out of the garage and cleaned up.

I like it a lot, I guess over the winter I will be doing the fiberglass work and repainting the bumper - it obviously needs it.

The logo is chrome, but as you can so it's not "blinding" - the pics even make it look black from these angles.

My only problem is that I pulled the lip out too much to try to meet the contour of the bumper and then used 1/4" bolts (4 per side and 2 in the middle)...so when I put the bumper cover back on, the lip was actually stronger than the cover and so it distorted the lines a little and so it doesn't exactly line up with the quarter panels. I'll fix that by moving the edges of the lip in over the winter when I take it off to paint the bumper.

Like I said, overall, I'm very happy with how it looks and how it came out. I know some don't like it, but to each their own :thumb:

Looks really good. You can barely see the emblem which works out well.

I think if the car was a little lower it would make it look really good. thats pretty cool.

Thanks. Yeah, Megan coilovers STILL sitting in the garage waiting LOL

This mod is sexy.... It wasn't just a hack job but uses the weatherstrips also to give it a clean look... do you know the dimensions of this cut, I want to perform this mod myself, but I don't want to cut too much out...

Since this is back...do any of you folks know the brand/type of weatherstripping used? I did 2 vents in my bumper this weekend, and when I went to go look for the trim, all I could find was masses of flat strips and some door trim. Nothing thin like that. I ended up with coolant overflow hose cut on one side.

Do we get to see any pics of this?

Maybe if I wash the car! LOL.

I almost put the camera in the car so I could snap a pic or two today, but decided against doing so until I at least get some water over the old girl. 18-19yr old paint is a bi***.

Maybe I'll just shoot the car from ~10ft away or so. ;)

Edit: I really need to update my gallery. My car doesn't really look like that anymore. Different wheels, tails debadged and tinted, black hood and headlight covers, FMIC...

I actually went to WalMart and couldn't find anything that seemed like it would work better than the rubber hose. :/

Pic included...I figure the camera phone is way more forgiving than my SLR. LOL
