ok so i had a trhead befoere that with just a open intake filter I ran 6.3 average. Now I have put on the intake pipe and did the BCS free mod, and I got time like 6.25,6.1. and6.0 with a low rpm launch. Then i did like a perfect high rpm launch and got down to a 5.7. Any idea on why im getting such better times? and it does defianetly feel faster.

what are these times recorded with? The "before" Times what was the weather like and what is it now?

ya 0-60, the conditions are the same. I think im launching better becasue before I was just dropping the clutch now im riding the clutch a little more.

so you dont think the air intake or bcs mod had anything to do with it

Well of course it had something to do with it... Wouldn't make any sense to do these things if it didn't....

Just curious, what are you using to time it with? If it's anything but a 1/4 mile track, that adds to the inconsistency.

But higher rpm's and cooler air will make a huge difference...

you will def be able to tell a little bit of a difference in the pull of your car when you have the air intake on and when you have it off...granted having it completely off isn't a very good idea and isn't getting good air into your engine. your just sucking up the hot air from the engine bay. so yes the intake would def give you a lil improvement but your shifting has something to do with it also

I haven't played close attention, but I think 65 is about where I shift to third. It's possible you were shifting right around the 60 mph mark... That could skew things easily...

You are probably becoming a better driver. The free mods only do a little bit, but the way you launch is what makes the bigger difference. I noticed launching it at 5000-5500 RPM is the way to go, I got a 1.76 to 60 feet when I did that.

ya im just getting use to the car so I think im getting better at launching all though I dont like to do it often at all, I have been driving like my new born baby was sitting on the hood.

oh yeah and im doing it hand imed so its probably not all that accurate but i do it the same way each, you can probably add .2 seconds on to the time like they do in track.

I'm confused, are we talking 0-60 mph or 60ft ? I think I missed something somewhere???

That's great if you have an AWD, or at least a Limited slip. But fwd with a stock tranny and stock clutch, figure on 3000 max. Anything over that is just a smoke show... It takes allot of finesse before you get it right where your not losing any traction and you have the engine where it needs to be.
On top of that, if you don't warm the tires up a lil the first time, it'll also break traction a little easier. If your only doing 0-60 times, Drop em down to like 15 - 20 lbs and get some VHT... I wouldn't go that low if your doing 1/4 mile times though..

Best to do it on a cool night. a 95 degree day will just be greasy...
Rip em up!
