I took off all the emissions equipment and plugged the holes on the intake manifold, and took it for a spin.... It feels ALOT smoother and it seems to have more pep in its step.... The only thing I didnt do is put on my EGR Block-off plate...

Why would this happen? Why would I be quicker

You most likely had some boost leaks in the vacuum hoses that are now fixed. Yet one more example of why boost leak tests are so important to good performance!!

Also many of the emissions systems work by taking some of the undesirable byproducts of combustion and rerouting them back into the combustion chamber for burning. While this keeps the air cleaner it unfortunately "contaminates" the air/fuel mixture (less oxygen in the intake charge) resulting in less efficient combustion. But this effect generally is not significant enough that you would be able to feel a noticeable difference when driving the car.

exactly... It made a huge difference in performance... screw vac lines for emissions.. hahahahahaahahaha..... RACE CARRRRRR!!!!!! boost leak test would have done good, but the only place I could think of that would make it leak bad enough to make a difference was the vac lines.... they are gone.. I am gald

I agree!! I had a noticable increase in spool time :thumb: Im sure it was because something was leaking in that emissions mess, oh well. It was much easier to remove the boost leak than fix it ROFL .
