Toronto,
Can i remove a internal WasteGate on a turbo and run a External wastegate?

Would I just need the External flange on the exhaust side to cover the hole?

either way will be similar. if you are looking to mod heavier later down the road, weld the flapper shut, get an exhaust manifold with a wastegate flange welded onto it and get a dumptube/recirculating pipe.

LOL

a good tune with proper supporting mods will net the most horsepower.

Its for the driver to decide. According to you profile you have the stock 2g exhaust manifold. If you are planning on running it off the manifold, you will either need to buy a new manifold with a wastegate provision or weld on on. the O2 housing option is always available since you can just replace the restrictive stock one (whether you dump to atmosphere or not).

i want street monster with pro look and maybe performance

Like the saying goes, "how fast can you afford to go". If you half a** it, you will not get very far. Just make sure when you are modding you do all the supporting mods, electronics and you dont just rig everything together to "just work". Make sure its put together properly.

never been one to rig stuff together look most stuff around here at the most is 500hp so yeah how much work needs to be done:banghead:

If you are wanting to go with an external setup to " faster or make more horsepower" its not going to happen. The benifit you get from an external wastegate setup is more solid boost control. Follow the upgrade paths to make more power. Do basic maintanence first, water pump, belts, timing belt, spark plugs and wires etc, then move on to other upgrades. Back to wastegates if you want to run an external you can either 1) weld the flapper hole shut and buy a new exhaust mani with a flange on it or have a flange welded on what you have or 2) remove the flapper completely, port the hole out and get an o2 housing that has an external flange on it. Punishment racing sells external o2 housings with tial 38mm mvs wastegates for around $570. Your o2 housing can be dumped to atmosphere or plumbed back into the exhaust, dumped sounds cool at first but gets old an annoying really fast.

well in the process of building of a .20 over 2.4 and a built head not sure of the cams though and bigger turbo with the ram horn style manifold

I think I'm experiencing boost creep. I will hit 10psi really quick then it will hold there for a sec or two then shoots to 18-22psi. I just purchased a FP manny a couple of months ago so the 02 external seems like my only option. Reading some threads, it seems like there is no bolt-on and go option. If someone would check my mods and let me know the cheapest but most effective route for me Id appreciate it alot. I dont want to run more than 20psi. Thanks

You can either have a flange welded onto your FP mani or buy and o2 housing setup for external. Id say for you your best bet would be to buy an o2 housing with a gate package deal from punishment or MAP performance. Either option you choose you will be pulling your turbo off anyways so easiest would be to bolt on a o2 housing with gate on it and call it a day.

Nothing else seemed appropriate. ROFL ROFL ROFL

Care to elaborate? Because I can't make any sense of this.
