EVOIII 16g dyno sheets?

I think we should look at trap speed for the real power, my car does 111mph weighing 3400lbs with 20psi and pump gas. Bone stock motor with 215,000kms...right down to the Throttle Body

I made...uhh...ok, I haven't been to a dyno, but it doesn't seem to be holding me back. I figure at 117.5mph in the 1/4 with a race weight of 3315lbs, it ought to be making close to 400hp at the wheels. If we get an AWD dyno day locally this Winter, maybe I'll go.

The EVO 16g is such a great turbo. We made 400.7whp on the 16g at 24psi on a decently built motor. Just goes to show the power this lil guy is capable of.

I put down 313 on my stock internal 7 bolt on pump 93 and 348 whp on my 6 bolt with a bit of a 1:5 mixture of xylene in the tank . I dont have a scanner here so I cant scan my 6 bolt graph. Heres my old one though:

mine's at 295.7WAHP and 292.3ft/lb of torque. look at the graph.

Your graph does say that, but it also say "flywheel torque, and flywheel power".
I am unsure how they measured that, but if those numbers were at the flywheel then you probably have 250-260whp.
That is what the sheet says, is it wrong?

That is just the way the Mustang dyno labels the graphs.

One important thing to note on every single one of these Dyno graphs: The torque falls off REALLY fast and early. Its not just about MAX power and MAX torque, its about how much torque and power the thing makes over its entire power band. Although, everyones peak torque is quite good (i.e. 300ft-lbs or so) it is only there for a brief second when the turbo is most likely spiking. By 7K it appears most people are down around 200 ft-lbs. Some cams and headwork would do wonders to flaten the torque curve for each of these dyno charts. Perhaps, a slightly bigger turbo will help flaten the torque curve as well. Just imagine how much your car would pull if your torque stayed around 300 ft-lbs for a couple thousand RPM.

yes, it's the HP at the hubs (wheels) which is on the rotor.

Agreed. I got a 50trim now I'll see how that effects torque curve. Should be pulling longer torque curve.

guilty The torque isn't going to flatten easy on an EVOIII 16G or something similar since it's going out of effeciency passed the torque peak. If it did flatten the torque, it'll make crap load more power than 300HP.

That is a really great number! Obviously it was well tuned but it is almost hard to believe you can get that much power @ 17psi without some other major changes, like maybe 9:1 compression, cams, etc. Do you know what other mods were needed to get that number?

I JUST talked to the owner.. it was 17 psi on 93 octane pump gas.. Completely Stock 6 bolt 8:1 compression too.. stock head cams..

The only mods were 625cc injectors, 16g turbo, and a nice FMIC. They took it to the track later that day (or next) and ran a 8.15 @ 90 mph (FWD car)

Its possible to get 300 whp on a EvoIII turbo. I dyno at 278.7 a couple of month ago. My mods are in my profile if you guys were wondering. At the time of the dyno, i had it tuned but they only did minimal tuning. Recently i have ported my turbo, manifold, and o2 housings and i am plaining on doing more stuff to the engine so 300 is acheivable on a Evo3 turbo.

Now, the question in my mind is, how do similarly modded 50trim cars stack up on pump gas to Evo3 cars. As in, what is truly the pump gas king? What kind of gains have people been seeing by simply upgrading the turbo?

The 50 trim is better on pump gas but in I think the 2 turbos are very comparable in terms of air flow. Me and Brian (lowridin2g) raced from a roll on the highway. He has a PTE 50 trim and I had my EVO 16G. Our other supporting mods are a bit different though. I have a FWD spyder,9:1 6 bolt a TRE spec short gear tranny and DSMlink. He had AWD, a 7 bolt and a stock tranny, and SAFC but he also had straight 272 HKS cams and I had stock 6 bolt cams. I have a really good video if anyone will host it.
Its of my track run with my evo 13g (stock 7 bolt, stock tranny, AFC), me walking a 2003 M3 top end, and me vs. brian (evo3 vs. 50trim). NEED A HOSTER. note: on the video vs. me and brian I was running a 1:14 gallon mix with xylene but I changed no settings on DSMlink. Reason was it was very cold that day and I didnt feel like getting any knock and having to tune it out - we were going to a meet.

yes someone host those vids. even though youll see me get owned ive been tuning it since, once i get my external setup, wideband, and water/meth injection kit and you get all your new goodies we gotta do it again. and to boot we should make a badass vid of it and post it up here on tuners
