But i've not been able to find out how low i can drop it w/o it rubbing with stock evo tire size, anyone know?

If you have decent suspension, roll your inner QP lip and you can run the stock tire size and drop it 2 inches.

The good thing about having black rims is that you don't notice the brake dust all the time.

Downside of having black rims is looking like you're rolling on a set of steelies/blackies.

Im now running 235/45/17 with no problems. Ksport coilvers. I think that if I went 245, they might rub.

ya they shouldn't have any fitment issues considering I'm running wheels that are 18x8 with a +30 offset and the tires are 245's which were previously on an evo. only issue I have is the rear sometimes rubs because of the offset, but I think I'm gonna roll the fenders so it should be fine

Yea, the evo 8 wheels look good on either a 1g or 2g... now the evo 9 mr bbs's however...

Those BBS are to drool for.. I tryed 245 on mine and they were too big so i stuck with 235 I have full K sport race suspension but didnt when I got my tires.. Question does the evo 8 brembos fit on our 2nd gen dsm's?

Yes they fit, but you have to do a minor tweak on the fronts. I believe the rear are a direct bolt on.

I tossed the MR wheels onto the car after dinner tonight. They're a huge downgrade from the Amkreads, so......I really don't like them on the car. They ARE much lighter and the tires are slightly wider (245/40 vs 235/40). I didn't drive it, so I don't know if it will rub. Probably not though.

Anyway, here's a few pix. Sorry for the poor quality. I thought I had more sunlight....

thanks for the test fit, i know ive been debating on whether its worth the $1600 people are asking for the new X stockers compared to the $300 i can spend on the stock IV wheels from socalevo... you just answered my question. they look great but not $900 great.

btw, do you own stock in mitsu? youve got a damn mitsu slash tire/wheel business going on in your garage. ill look for you at MOD '09, i saw the paper under your 2g windshield wiper, what car/cars will you be driving this year?

So to answer the beginging question. Yes the evo 9 wheels will fit directly on a 2g with no tire rubbing long as you dont get a tall tire???????? I would like to know as I am looking at buying a set but not sure what tire to run on it with stock suspension and have no tire rub???
