Evo 8-10 Brembo Calipers DSM Conversion (for 1g too)

to the guys who have this conversion up and running what size master cylinder are you using and how is the pedal travel?
 
Ok guys I'm going to tackle this on the weekend.

1 grind a little off the caliper
2 grind the ears of the knuckle
3 tap knuckle


I have a 2gb am I missing anything?

Ow and the evo rears use a banjo not like the dsms that use a flare fitting. I assume no one changed the rears to banjo but I wasnt sure.

In that second pic you can see three dsms in my garage LOL. Those were the good days...

I'm kinda confused after reading 8 pages. Will stock '95 GSX brake lines connect to the brembo's or do i need to get ones for an evo? I will most likely get stainless just want to know which to buy.

I just put the EVO IX brembo's on with the JDM knuckles and the SS lines I was using on the GSX calipers worked just fine. Should be the same with the caliper bracket and stock knuckle.

I have the Project Mu big brake kit for the Evo and it came with lines. The lines did not work with my 2g so I bought Goodridge SS lines for a 2g. I hope that clears it up. BUT the rear lines for the 2g will fit the rear Evo calipers.
 
I used the stainless lines from RRE that were already on my car for the stock brakes. I have not had any issues.
 
What do u want to see? I posted a couple pics of mine.

They fit with kmv's brackets by simply machining/grinding a little off the back of the calipers.

I have had my brembo swap done for about 2 weeks now and i hardly ever drive the car but the other night i was driving and all of the sudden i lost brakes. My guess is its the master as i had a problem when i was trying to bleed the brakes with the master and did a quick and dirty rebuild of it.

Has anyone else had problems killing master cylinders?
 
there is probably still air in the system. i just did a brembo swap on mine last weekend and i bleed it like ten times before i got all the air out.

Could this be done in 1 day, like start in the morning and be done by sundown? Because i only get 1 day off at a time and rely on my dsm to get to work. Also what tool is everyone using to shave/cut their knuckle with?

it took me from 9 am to like 6 to do it. i used a metal grinder to shave down the knuckes. the longest part is the shaving, once that is done its basically a basic bolt on. i could have done it faster but i was doing it while at work...i work at a mechanic shop LOL
 
Need more pics of 1g installed brakes!

Heres mine. Whoever gets this set up should also look into getting a bigger master cylinder. I couldn't get a stiff pedal with the stock mc. Then i got a mc from a 2000 eclipse and no problems.
