2G Evo 3 16g install

I am currently in the process of installing my evo 3 16g turbo on my 95' Talon TSI. I have read some threads on the swap, and also read through the vfaq. Some say to run your oil feed line from the head and some say to run from the oil filter housing. I want to do the most effective way, what do you recommend for this install? I dont have to worry about space because my engine is out of my car. So I am looking to do this install right, also let me know if any one has a picture of their setup, so that I may have a reference for whatever way is more effective. Thank you in advance. Jeff

Off the head man. I've been doing it for a long time off the head and its very effective, what makes it worst is that i dont have a MHI 16g, and i've been runing 20psi for over 15k miles and no shaft play what so ever.

No BSE, oil filter housing. BSE, then from the head or port the oil filter housing. Journal bearing turbos can survive fine being fed from the oil filter housing.

I have just read the thread that Justin posted and the main argument from it was that if you feed a ball bearing turbo from the OFH you would have to use some sort of restrictor so that you dont damage the seals of the turbo. They also said that you could feed a journal bearing turbo (such as mine) from the head. Thank you for referring me to that thread. Now does any one have a decent photo of that application? I am pretty sure of what needs done but I want to be 100% sure. (Wife wont let me get another turbo )

You can feed it from your oil filter housing, but you need a restrictor

You should never have a restrictor fitting on a journal bearing turbo. Have you ever seen the pin hole that is provided for the oil to enter the turbo in the CHRA? With a restrictor fitting there would be barely enough to suffice. Journal bearings need a constant (relatively larger amount) of oil opposed to a BB turbo.

Just saying alot of people run the oil feed from the OFH to thier MHI turbos, myself included with no problems. I have done so for about 2 1/2 years now with no problems.
I have also called ExtremePSI and asked for thier advice and they said it is fine to run the turbo from the OFH since MHI turbos have a oil restrictor in the housing.
