Hi. I have a 1996 Mitsu eclipse GS-T with the 4g63 motor and had the f4a33-1 tranny. I did a Auto to manual swap, and successfully swapped out everything and it looks factory. One issue. It wont start, no click no nothing. I tried almost every trick in the book besides push-starting and toggle-switching the starter. Any one had this problem?

Ok I have not disconnected the TCU, and I just jump wired the starter relay (black red / black yellow) and the car started first try. it ran a few minutes and I shut it off, went to start it again and you can hear the starter make a single click sound and hasn't started since... Now I'm trouble shooting that LOL

Usually when you hear a click that means the contacts are worn or the ground or positive 12v coming in is bad. Loose wire? Corrosion?

I have a previously auto car thats MT(undergoing surgery now to go back AT). I found that there is a gear select sensor...f***... thingy(?) that if i unplugged would not allow the starter to engage. It wouldnt start with the tcu disconnected either. But then again, i never looked into it, i just tucked the unused AT connectors out of the way.

Gotta be a write up of how what to jumper when converting mt to at. Its been done countless times. Ill do some searching and see if i can help

That's a good idea. I haven't checked my connections yet. I thought maybe the solenoid is getting worn out and I was like $@#&!!! and threw my screw driver LOL I guess I will go over it with a fine comb tomorrow and tuck away the auto wires and what's funny is the auto gear selector is only by a cable drawn up from the side of the shifter, that runs up the column. I'd look into that

Update: I got it starting consistently now, and next problem on the board is when I'm driving it has no power and kinda backfires and suddenly it takes off like a rocket... TCU still connected maybe?
