I picked up a 6bolt for my 95 tsi (walked), and also an engine stand. I was wondering what the best place would be to bolt up to on the block? Also, what bolts should I use and where can I get some? I don't have any spare bolts or anything I can use, so I need to buy some either way.

Any help would be great,

I work at a hardware store and we don't sell metrics in grade 8, we don't even sell them in grade 5. Would I be ok using just regular bolts? The Lowes and ace by me went out of busines. So its between my store and homedepot( who ewe have a better sellection over)
Your answer is 3 posts above.

Hi guys..... What length and diameter are the bolts to fix the 4g63 mill to a engine stand by the bellhousing.

I used some old 4g63t main bolts to mount my 6 bolt block on my engine stand, and yes all 7 bolts use the same mains up to evo 9, so if you intend to run arp main studs, be sure to save your old 4g63t main bolts, you might need large washers as well, but they worked on my block I think the thread pitch is 10mmx1.25 you will need to find out what length you need to go through your stands mounting arm and bolt into the block.

I used old exhaust manifold bolts with big nut as a spacer. What ever bolt you use, just make sure it’s using enough threads so you don’t strip the block

10mm x 1.25 seems to be the correct answer based on all the other replies to this question over the years.
