ECMlink ECU and tune question

Alright guys, if this was 20 years ago I would have figured it out but…

I’m putting together a 97 gst spyder and it has a non eprom ecu. I don’t know much about this, and ecmtuning won’t get back to me. I’m located in Ohio, and I pretty much need guidance on what to do. I’ve seen eprom ecus for sale in the classifieds. Can I buy one of those and have it tuned? Does the dsmlink eprom come tuned? I had a 99 back in the day and it was tuned using a safc 2. I was told the aem s2 is great but that’s way above what I’m needing. This is just a cruiser weekend car.

When bought second hand, it will come with the tune and setting from previous owner. It can be set back to “stock settings” which isn’t a big deal.

If the car is completely stock then the ecmlink ecu would come "tuned" for a stock car but if you have any modifications, it would not be tuned. You'd have to make adjustments

Well then I’m in need of a 2g eprom socketed ecu. The whole dsm link package if possible

Ya your gonna want to find a good Eprom with ecmlink v3 full installed ideally. Otherwise you can send to have socketed but not sure on the wait and how many chips are available. Ya those apexi units are cheap outdated and no good they are a non efficient band aid to trick the car. From my experience I had Aem series 2 and I would not reccomend if going standalone. I sat on it for 2 years before taking a 600 dollar loss to find out it wasn't cooperating with my Omni 4 bar. That was also confirmed by a professional tuner.

Yea that’s what I’m looking for. I’ve tried to contact ecmlink several times with no response as. If I could just bypass them all together that would be ideal. There’s one on here for sale from GoodByeSTI I asked about
