Me? Being a Pessimist? I'm thinking ECU.

And No Mike, good call. I'm going to go try now.

A different ECU would be wonderful, But I don't have the cash on hand for a new one.

One thing just kind of hit me right as I was falling asleep (After waiting on Mike for 2 hours to get on Reach). Near my interior fuse panel, the harness is kind of nested up. When I got the car, there was what I assume to be the factory Alarm Module? At the time I had no idea what it was (still not sure if I do), so I unplugged it and tossed it in my console. Never had an issue. What I've since noticed is that the illumination ring on my Ignition doesn't light up, my floor panel light doesn't light up, but the fuse is good. I read that if there is no power to these parts then the OBDII port shouldn't be functioning correctly if at all.

Is it possible that something was tied into the little black module that I removed and could be causing this issue? I know it's far-fetched, but it's a DSM. Also, I read up and found up that we have an Alarm Deactivation wire that if grounded the alarm will be deactivated. The said wire is green in white. I found a cut wire grounded to the frame that was green and white with a black tag on it that said"GND"....and I had no idea what it could have been up until now.

Any input?

It's similar to that, but to the best of my knowledge it was smaller, very vaguely detailed on what it was, and used a single flat connector that resembled a crude PC ribbon cable to plug into the harness. I found the same thing on my 90 GSX when I had it so I had always assumed it was an Alarm module. Could be a remote Start/Keyless entry module?

I just went outside to see if I could find it and couldn't, sadly, so no pictures to provide. It's location was right above the fuses on the driver side, tucked up above the Hood Release Lever.

When this happened to me, the cord green light would still flicker but I got no response. So I ordered a new cable for it and that had fixed my problem. See if anyone lives close to you to try a different cord. Or there computer, or ECU.
