what happens if your ebay turbo breaks? is ## engine ####ed, i dont understand. LOL if it breaks buy a new one diff company?

Replace the turbo, and hope if peices came off they are in your intercooler and didn't make their way into the engine..

I have first hand experiance with this..

It really depends on specifically how it fails.

But it doesn't usually ever cause engine damage. If it doesn't strand you on the side of the road somewhere, then you're just out time and money for a replacement. And that sucks because who likes throwing away things like time and money?

The benefit from a legitimate turbo is that it probably won't fail, and you'll get better performane from it.

im on a tight budget, will eventually get a better one, just for a 8lb job right now

Just wait until you can afford a real one so the ebay one doesn't fail and possibly damage your engine.

You can buy a nice freshly rebuilt 16g from jusmx141 for $100 more, and not have the headache of it blowing out!

I'd take any working 16g over anything from Godspeed.
Actually I'd even take a blown MHI 16G over anything Godspeed...at least I know that once it's rebuilt I'd actually have something that stands a chance of being reliable. LOL

Dave and I have been there-done that with the knockoff GT35R that blew in 400 miles....seller lied and it was never a ball bearing turbo to begin with, etc. Surprisingly the eBay 35R outlasted a brand new Turbonetics 60-1 on the same car....doesn't say much for Tur-blow-netics. ROFL

meh its a hit and miss wether u get something good on ebay i guess, like lottery. ive heard mixed reviews about godspeed

You sound like you have your mind pretty much made up..why'd you even ask?

i was wondering about experiences like what happens, and what a/r is better. but noone answered my noob downpipe question =[

If you want the T3 turbo, with the .63 hot side and a .60 cold.. look for a 83-86 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe Turbo, it is a real Garrett turbo, and can be had on the cheap.

I have one and it maxes about 18psi

Even has the 5 bolt flange.

Buy a junked mitsu turbo and rebuild it. You can order compressor housings or other non moving parts besides the bearing housing, if need be, anything else needs to be mitsubishi. look on CL they can be had cheap and a rebuild kit costs about 120$ great turbo if your not afraid to get dirty.

^ That. Browse the classifieds and pick up a genuine used turbo for cheap.

I bought a .48 a/r t3 t4, they said they are out and will give me a .57 a/r? any comments on that? I know .63 is good, but for higher boost, and .48 is faster spooling.

didnt wanna make a new thread, and this is somewhat related.

anyone have any ideas on this? im new to turbos, i took of the exhaust housing, the shaft doesnt budge, spins sexy smooth, but what is this thing, seems like a cap? im guessing when the housing is on it holds it, but is this normal??

serious? thats all it does, no oil behind it nothin?

EDIT* its supposed to move like that right?
I can't view your video, but yes; the turbine housing is what pins that heat shield tight when installed. So, it's loose when the turbine housing isn't installed. Oil doesn't flow behind it, but coked oil can build up underneath it over time.

I was not going to say anything but I feel obligated to. Do not do a half way job. You will just spend more money over to do it right. If you don't have the money to upgrade your car right now, just wait. Put the money in a jar in your house marked car fund if you have to. All I know is if you want to upgrade, do it right.

And for the dp, I don't think a Civic/Integra anything would fit our cars.

Good luck!
