E316G Wastegate flapper doesn't seal

Hey guys, i got my portjob done.

I've made a test with a lamp to check if the Wastegate flapper seals.

If i let the wg flapper shut itself, there is no light coming through it.

But if I give pressure on the flapperarm (outside of the hotside) like the actuator rod would do... then there is a thin line of light I can see in the wg exit

Is that normal?

if not... what should i do to fix it?

When that happened to my 14b i just simply heated up the flapper arm slightly and then tapped it lightly with a hammer. The assembly should slide back into place.

you heat up the flapper arm und hit it with a hammer (outsite of the hotside)

and then what happened? i don't understand it clear i think

In the following picture i have marked, where the light is if i pressurize the flapper arm (outside of the hotside)

(Thats not my housing in the picture, i actually don't have a 34mm flapper)

Apply heat here with a propane torch and tap with hammer where my finger is:

By hitting the arm in you will in turn push the flapper arm shaft back through the turbine housing and the flapper should move and cover the hole unless you ported too much.

Evo III turbine housings have a different flapper lever setup which doesn't walk out of the housing.

It sounds to me like you got a little carried away on the port job, and now you need a 34mm flapper.

hey, thx for the pictures to explain it to me.

thats not the problem. the flapper covers the hole about 2mm each site...

so the flapper is about 4mm bigger in diameter than the hole

yesterday i made the light test again and i've seen that the light comes through the right site if I give pressure to the Flapperarm (outside of the housing)

if i press on the flapper at the right site... the light comes through the left site...

i took a pice of 400er sandpaper and lie it between the flapper and the seat... than pressed the flapper down with the flapper arm and start to move the flapper in a circle

now its better but i even have a little thin gap (i think its a gap) where light comes through...

its hard to explain for me but i hope u understand what i meen

the line of light is extremly thin, so my camera can't take a picture of it... otherwise i would show u
