Dumb question probably... ebay turbos

Is there any decent t3/t4 style turbos on ebay? if so who's sellin them? I need a turbo on a budget (wanted an hx35 but don't think i'm gonna be able to swing it) and my 57 trim needs a new compressor wheel but the rest is good (just a lazy compressor wheel that i don't care for too much) so anywone know of anything that's NOT junk on there?

Try the T3 20gs... Theres a 1g around here thats doing just fine with one, but then again he's not really pushing it

Yea, i'm THAT BROKE.. I spent a few weeks in and out of the hospital and have bill tht could buy supercars if i could pay them and money is tight being that i left my wifey and kept the house and dogs on my own nickel then lost work for near 3 months to recover from internal bleeding

I would just shop Ebay for a while, I saw a fp green go for pretty cheap recently on there. Does it have to be dsm flanged? Maybe check Kinetic Motorsports, they make the SBR turbos. Or watch the classified for a good deal.

looking for a t3 flange since i'm running a t3/t4 hybrid already with ext. gate on manifold. I just don't want this same turbo much longer and want to make a little more air move and preferably with less lag but i got NAWS for tht

Yea, I didn't put two and two together from your first post about was flange... theres a 60 trim in the classified for $300, doesn't come much cheaper than that. That same price plus a bep housing you could have a hx35 or 40 though. Good luck, maybe you could barter for something.

Nothing on eBay will be reliable if you push it to a boost level where it would be useful. I've seen eBay 16G's fail in short time when used at stock boost levels their entire life...a boost level where a 14B would last 150k+.

Ultimately i want the hx35 with bolt on housing from jusmx141 above (trust hium to get me a good turbo) but you would just have to udnerstand how tight things are for me right now.. I'm trying top find a used decent shape copmpressor wheel for mine to get by a tad longer untill i can sell some motorcycle projects to get a better turbo, but overall i've hit my goal of 450-500hp (431 turbo 503 on spray) I just want better response and not being maxed out if i dont' have to to make the 430's

I'll probably just wait it out untill i can afford the HX35 but i also question it'
s size and me needingboth stock fans for AC on hot days and good cooling (the holsets are bigger than t3/t4 hyrbids) and garrett has some newer turbos that are small and produce a LOT of air and i'd really like to learnmore about those but time is spent earning and paying bills and i haven't looked into them yet

60 tri would be nice... hell i'd evenn like a 50 trim... they make the power i want, spool faster and are more efficient than the 57 in the areas where i need to be, so i'm not all that picky, just don't want a junker

If you're that tight, get a 14b and stock manifold. You'll not run the risk of it failing even at low boost (having to buy two turbos is more expensive than buying one). Considering a 14b flows 34lb/min and I've yet to see an ebay turbo flow that much without eating itself, you'll not really lose out int he performance department too. And you'll have the manifold you'll need for the bolton hx35 later.

I paid $100 for my 14b that's in great shape going on my green awd. You can get 2g manifolds for $50.

You can get an hx35 to bolton to your manifold btw. No cost for the bolton housing. It will be as laggy as an hx40 (20+psi by about 4200rpms). But it will get you running. You will likely have to do downpipe work. But the ebay t3/t4 turbos are what $300. I think you can still get hx35 turbos for that price.

And, don't forget that the wh1c is practically the same thing as the +52lb/min 8blade hx35; tubine housing, wheels and compressor a/r are the same. And the 54mm inducer big h1c (INTERCOOLEd 1991-1993 cummins) flow 49-50lb/min. However the big h1c has a housing that is stupid large for an open header and the street. But those big h1c turbos can be had for far cheaper than the hx35. All flow more than your 57trim.

If you buy cheap you're going to get cheap results. I learned the hard way.

Bought a knock off 16G from Ebay and it is leaking oil. They are cheap because they are made by less qualified people with less expensive cheaper materials.

Makes sense right?

THanks again for the advice.. dsm_onster, My 57 trim is in perfect shqpe in the CHRA, and i plan to either rebuild it as a 57 still or get the housing machined (or do it myself) to stuff a 60 trim wheel in there (but i'd rather go down to a 50 but that's more money)

What i'm really working on is a GOOD 2nd turbo that wil become my main blower and the 57 will then be abackup for my one day in the future RWD 4g63 build in some little kit car body

But either way if i am going to have to get a turbo so taht when i can afford to send the 57 off to be re-balanced, I wqould prefer it be something i want to run... I would be iunterested in a eIII16g, but really the 3 i'm shooting for finding are 18g, 20g from cyclone (with t3 hot flange from OEM ) or the HX35 h1c, hx40 (any of them) that i've been dreaming about since joining up here.. My 57 is now spooling up at like 4800 for 25psi and with as beat as the wheel is it's just heating up the air more than anything so it's gotta come of for a wheel no matter what.. I've got mitsu manifolds and my t3 manifold so i can use about anything but i want something FUN

I wish i could get rid of this 2gFWD trans or something in order to be able to fork out the loot for the hx35 with BEP housing ( but i can't bring myself to sell my 1/4 scale RC car.. just wouldn't get out what's in it ) but EVERYone wants to buy that when they see it. I've got my mini bike builds on craigslist so hopefully my 13hp/15lb/ft 1972 honda z50 catches some one's eye this week or somethign i wanna sell... too bad it's much harder for a guy to go strip for cash.. i'd be a total whore for parts

Anyone interested in a 1/8th scale nitro team losi muggy with upgraded FM radio, and less than a gallon of nitro through it and all the rnning gear for a turbo trade?? will trade complete RTR for a RT bolt on hx35 or similar

I'm abhout out of injector anyway so it's not like i'm trying for a ton more power, just a different powerband and to have this rebuilt for the other project or to sell

So, I fully support the kit car idea. I probably have enough engine and drivetrain to build one, just need to find a good frame in my area, and finish this long rebuild on my 2g.

Yea, i can't wait.. I wann do it with either a kit or retro-fit into an older 2 seater open roadster (something brittish maybe) but either way something that does not have to pass emissions in ANY state I've really been dreaming about using my TRE tramnns and making a mid engine rear drive car (or rear engine i guesss) but i'll worry about that when i et there...... for now, just needing a turbo

But i could talk all day about my "plans" i've got an extra haltech, engine , trans, about everything i need to get the powerplant in the car and running , but no car or turbo for it (and other suppporting things but you get the gist)
