I took my turbo out to replave my headgasket. I was spinning the turbo by hand and it spin freely when the turbo is a horizontal position. However, if you turned with the compressor facing down( Vertical Position) when you spin it it stop very quickly and sounds like rubbing. Turbo is fine, is new. Why is this. Is this normal in BB turbos?
thanks for the help.

That is really bad... if you were trying to drive the car on its side. Put some oil in the turbo. If it spins you have nothing to worry about. When you held it on its side, the compressor wheel was making contact with the housing.

i have a gt35r and it does not do that. your tubro is bad very bad. take it back rite away
