im about to get a dual stage boost controller, my question is, how will it affect my AFR as i transition from 1 boost setting to another? do I basically tune for the higher boost setting and just let it adjust itself from the fuel trims for low boost? I mean most of the time it will be at the low boost setting (12-14psi), and only occassionaly will it see the higher boost setting (18-19psi). Purpose of the dual stage is to help traction...

That is an excellent question....Something I have never thought about before. Maybe it's because I'm cheap and only have an MBC. :thumb:

Let's see, if you running an EBC that is gear dependant, then the only thing you can do is to tune the car for the higher boost setting and live with running rich at lower boost. :notgood:

If you are running a dual stage (not gear dependant), such as one that you can adjust at a red light when that honduh pulls up beside you, there are other options. The SAFC-II has 2 fuel maps. Most people use one for race gas and the other for pump gas. You would just have to tune map 1 for low boost and map 2 for high boost. Meaning that you would have to adjust the BC and the SAFC-II at the same time. :toobad:

I am courious to see if anyone else has any input. :D

I'd say tune for the higher boost setting. If youre running the lower boost setting, I assume that would be for daily driving when you don't need the extra power. In that case, running a little rich at WOT won't hurt you. If you want the extra power, switch to the high setting and the car will be tuned perfectly.

yes i will be tuning for the high boost setting, but im wondering if it will compensate itself while on low boost setting since the maf will be reading less air anyway

Your low trims should be the same no matter what your boost setting is, it will only be affected when you actually boost, in which case you would run a little more rich.
