I got a hard intake pipe install today, and now the car run like crap around 5-6000rpm(backfires and seems like it dont wanna go). Should I just hook up my old rubber piece and call it a day. It ran perfect before the install.

Make sure all of your hoses and everything is tight. Also i dont know if you did a reset on your comp id pull the neg battery cable for about 10 min and see it that helps. Make sure your maf is connected and that you didnt pull any wires out when you removed peices and parts.

Was this just the intake, or did you replace intercooler piping?

Also are you sure that you plugged your MAF back in solidly and that all vacuum lines that went to the stock intake are properly hooked up or plugged?

Put the rubber one back and see if it stops.

My first guess is that you may have a leak between the MAF and the turbo that is causing the car to run leaner than it thinks it is. Or maybe the new intake is efficient enough that you are now hitting fuel cut with the stock 1G MAF (I don't think this is very likely).

If you have link you could do a idle log with the hard pipe on then do a log with rubber pipe and compare to see if there is an obvious Solution.

Boost leak test. Anything you do that involves the intake piping post compressor should be boost leak tested after the fact. Likely you're leaking air and your tune is f'ing up as a result of the motor thinking it's load is in a certain range it is not due to lost boost.

What are you running for boost? You did make sure to hook the MAF back up? Not sure you really answered that.

You won't see a boost leak in pictures unless it's huge and obvious. Just boost leak test the car and come back and tell us whether or not it leaks. Then we can move forward from there.

None of the hoses were connected before I changed the the rubber(I purchased the way this way and it was running great so I left it that way). The bov is not recirulated and the boost is good. I noticed today when I downshift and get on it, it runs great. From 1st on up it backfires and gets flat(noting wanting to go and backfire like crazy).

None recirculating without a form of tuning will cause issues. Usually dies on idle or off throttle. Is it a possibility that the maf got something in it. Or is actually bad?

Purchased the car uncirculated ran great at 18psi. I changed to hard pipe(hooked it up the same way), and runs like crap at high rmps. It idles fines no problems there, and it doesnt cut off anytime. Other than the hard pipe everything else is the same as when i purchased the car.
