These are the numbers that a parts store would look for if you are wanting NGK plugs for your DSM.

Protected Tip Plugs (SOLID TERMINAL):
BPR6ES - #4008
BPR7ES - #3785
BPR8ES - #95521

Non-Projected Tip Plugs (SOLID TERMINAL):
BR6ES - #?
BR7ES - #6615
BR8ES - #3961

I run solid terminals on my jet skis when I can. Same plug except the terminal can't unscrew. Modified 2 strokes can vibrate a good bit and if you don't loctite the terminal they can unscrew themselves and get stuck in the boot. But the point here is, I've been to a parts store before to get plugs and they only had an odd number available. One of my skis and my car both run BR8ES so I can get either one that's available at the time.

Had to look up numbers for 6 range plugs because I only have experience with 7-9 range plugs. I didn't see one for BR6ES with a solid terminal unless you go with #3824 which is a solid terminal BR6ES-11 (1.1mm gap).

Interesting update. I wasn't even aware there were solid and non solid. Any idea why?

Yeah, it's just for different applications. Having a threaded terminal nut gives the option to use it for either application. I know recently I saw a small atv that used a plug without the terminal nut on it, just the small threaded part. Then of course you can thread the nut on to use on stuff like our cars. If you KNOW you won't be removing the terminal nut for any reason, they have solid. Advantage there is it won't come loose on its own.

EDIT:NGK probably explains it better than me
Terminal Types

I agree with running solid tip plugs for sure. The dam screw on stuff is usually loose when I remove them.
Thanks guys, for the additional info!
Good for all. :thumb:
