i just trying to get some ideas on what kind of settings people are using with a key diver with(950's) and an innovative wideband

i have afc2 and aeromotive regulator,. my boost right now is at 15-16 lbs. iwant to start there before i bump up thw boost. my hi's, on the afc are around22-28 and its still saying that im rich. (mid to hi 10's) any help would be awsome

some kind of computer that this local shop has. i can see my timing, spark advance, rpm, coolant, etc. why do you ask?oh yeah i guess its what you would call a data logger

I'm trying to get an idea of how your setting your SAFC up.
anyway, you need to see your 02 so you can set up the Low settings and then go to the Hi settings.

This is how i start when I'm setting up a new chip: (currently I'm running Keydiver stg III with 680 cc comp).

First get the car warm and hold the engine and 1K and go down with the SAFC until the 02 cant switch any more and then Ill go up 10% or ten steps, then ill go to 2K and 3k and do the same.

Then ill carry all theses settings from 3K up to the Hi side.

Then at 3500 or 4000 rpm (I don't know where your Ne point is) Ill cut theses settings in half and go for a drive and In your 2G case tune with you wide band and timming no less than 17 deg and WOT. for a quick set ups on 1gs ill just run it around watching 02 voltage and try to shoot for .91 volts and WOT and timming17 to 20 degs.

this technique should get you close

heres my settings for Illustration: Lo 1K -19 2K -24 3K -24 and so on
Hi 1K -24 2K -24 3k-24 4k -10 4.5 k -10 5k-10 6K -4 7K -4

The low throttle tune you do with the ST/LT fuel trims. Ignore the OEM O2 sensor, it isn't worth looking at. Do the RPM method as mentioned, but get the LT fuel trims as close to zero as possible.

WOT tuning is done with the WB. I would suggest you get the RPM pick up and the needed bits. That way you know EXACTLY what RPM the AFR is. Tune accordingly... a 12:1 ratio is a good starting point.

It really tough to give you settings. Every car is different. Most people that run a turbo that requires 950 cc injectors ditched the AFC eons ago. DSMLink would be your best friend.

Hey bfdahl, what injectors are you running? I have FIC's and my low rpm compensation is up at +50! I have a feeling you have Delfi or RC. If you have a keydiver chip, shouldn't your settings be closer to zero?

Im using PTEs but my chip was comped for ND 660s.
When i had my 550s in and my old chip my comps were on the + side with a hacked 2G mas but, I put my side honeycombs back in I went to -15 to -17 on the low side and the car ran alot better.

oh yeah my low fuel trims the last that i checked where at something like5, i think.so far i want to say thanks to the people that have been replying, and trying to help me! am using fic 950 with the stage 3 chip from keydiver. what a tuner of my friend informed him that the senor on the wide band might be shot? how do you know if this is tru and where can you go to get a replacement. thansk again for all the postive help that i getting so far. by the way does anyone know where the closest dyno is to me. im about an hour south of syracuse?

If the WB sensor is shot, it will not initialize or work for only a shot period of time. The unit won't accept the sensor waaay before it become inaccurate, so that you won't have to worry about.

New sensors can be bought from Innovative or :D Direct from an online VW dealer.

yeah i guess that your right i seems thath the sensor is workin, its just that my car is acting ###. one min its runnig in the 11's for a/f the other its in the 9's 10's. go figure! but in everyone opinion whats the best gear and method to go about for tunning?

You can always do another free air calibration.

How is your O2 sensor (the one by the turbo) If that is acting up, the WB will show that since the computer will be all over the place trying to sort its' self out.

Tuning is best done on a 3rd or 4th gear pull... most use 3rd.

when i do the free air calibration, what should the percent be when im done? and will a leak at the downpipe flange screw the ratio up?

Free air should be 20.9% If it's off by .06% it needs to be recalibrated.

A leak will certainly screw everything up.

for some reason someone thought it would be a good idea to unplug the senor from the wideband box will it was on and now its saying some kind of error code and it wont fully warm up? anu ideas?

Yup. New sensor.

You must NOT have the sensor installed without the control box hooked up and running. It takes all of seconds to kill it.

does -30ish settings sound like somewhere i should be at with 950's and a keydiver chip?
