I will...hopefully I'll get them posted when I get home from work.

Are all BEP housings center volute and Mitsu housings off center and the center volute design increases airflow because it's more efficient?
There aren't that many hybrid Garrett / DSM bolt-on housings being made these days. The SBR/Kinetic housings were cast directly from a ported MHI 7cm housing, so they're roughly .49 and have an off-centered volute. PTE has the .48 and .63 housings with their off-centered volute as well. Bullseye has a .55 centered, and of course FP's .69 centered as well....and that's about it.

where was I Rude? This thread is about Bolt on options, not T3 that's why he wasn't contributing. He is the upset one, calling people names and such getting all worked up

In your second post. If that doesn't seem rude to you then you need to look up the definition. Who cares if he rambled? Maybe he didn't read your post clearly. That doesn't give you a right to be a dick and call out his "red square" like it makes you better than him or something because yours isn't red. Because that's the vibe your giving off. He started name calling after you were an ass to him. I'll bet you would do the same if someone called you out and completely ripped apart your post by saying every word you said is basically wrong. I'm done arguing but you should quit with your superior attitude. You're not above anyone just because of your square color. We're all human beings and being like that over an Internet forum is just stupid.

Any thoughts on a.82? I have a .82 housing laying around that I'm thinking of having machined. BTW, I currently have a FP30 housing on my H1C/superHX40 hybrid. It's still bolt on if you buy FP's O2 housing.

The thing is PTE offers a bolt-on .48 and .63 housing with ZERO published data on either one. How are we sure this is the .63 housing? Doesn't look anywhere near as big as the Precision T3 .63 to me.

Compare the visible size of the volute on the exterior of the BEP bolt-on housing to the PTE housing.

Hate me if you want....if you do, you're only hating the facts.

funny you mention that because i was looking at my .55 BEP housing and comparing to my PTE housing. the PTE volute is definitly smaller, didnt talon dave run his numbers with the batmowheel on a .55 though? or am i mixing up another thread with someone making 685hp:aha:

Without a doubt the FP30/35 housing is going to be your absolute best-flowing bolt-on option, and those housings are stainless as well. I believe they're a published .69 a/r, and it's a centered-volute as well. The only negative is they force you to run a 44mm v-band wastegate which limits your gate placement options unless you weld the v-band shut.

i talked to you about this though, they have 44mm Vband block off plates, and they have 38mm adapters for the 44mm vband incase you wanted to run a 38mm. i always thought my PTE housing was a .63AR but now that you said that and said there was a .48 AR im thinking thats what ive got. my .55 BEP housing has a much larger snail shape for air to flow inside.

Justin do you have some comparison pictures of the volute of the BEP housing? im interested in seeing them side by side

i can do this right now if you like.

a .82 housing would be a great option with an HX40, as long as its smaller then an HX40 already

You're mixing em up. TD ran a .70. I just wonder how much more is to be had and how much difference in spool there would be..82 seems to be a very well balanced a/r between power and response for the gt3x series turbos......

Tial isn't bolt on though... wasn't there just bitching about this earlier?:hmm:
You're right, it doesn't bolt on at all. :) I know, I'm just giving Adam a hard time...

:dsm:

BEP volute is about a 1/10th inch larger. I'm going to port mine a little bit and polish it up nice and shiny like. should help with flow too.
You're measuring the inlet of the housing, not the diameter of the volute around the wheel's radius. There's far more to the housing than what you can see. ;)

Is that an example picture not relevant to this discussion, either way thats a cool cross section

Pppsshhhh well not all of us have ban saws and extra housings to cut open!:D How about some good rep points for trying LOL i needa get outa the red here.

Call me a noob but this is what brought me up to speed with turbo jargon, I was surprised to find the info in between the covers of an Import Tuner mag.

It's broken down really well too, something that I could understand. Turbo Tech 101 - Tech-Knowledge - Import Tuner Magazine

I didnt finish that thought, I was wondering if either was a BEP housing
The one on the right (stainless). Left is a standard MHI 7cm housing.

It's tough to get the camera to focus on the depths of darkness down in the housing, but here's two shots of the same .55 HX40 BEP housing's huge centered volute:

So I've been reading through this thread and have the same predicament, so you guys are saying .82 will max out this turbo or be the best exhaust housing? But how would a .70 do... You guys didn't really get into that housing.
