dsm 1g awd m/t trans parts upgrades

Well here goes (my 1st post),
After doing alot of searching on this site (and on the net) I was wondering if there is an old thread or maybe somewhere were there is an exact list of parts used for upgrading a 1g awd m/t. What I am looking for is things like the galant first gear, evo III shift forks, double synchro 2nd. etc. Does any complete list exist? Sorry if this was simple to find, but I promise I did spend some time looking.......thanks for the help!

There are a couple vendors that will do tranny rebuilds and stock the parts you're looking for.

I have been on their websites but I kind wanted a parts breakdown from a D.I.Y. kind of person on this website. I have been trying to call TRE but I know they are really busy.

It is possible to replace your own shift forks/rails but going any deeper is not a good idea. Trans rebuilds and mods are not a DIY kind of job unless you have a heavy duty hydraulic press station, special micrometers and a factory parts manual for ordering the proper shims. Getting the preloads and other details right isn't something you want to mess up.

If you do have all that stuff and access to the right tools then keep calling TRE or Shep and see if they'll sell you the parts. They did sell me synchro's and a non-reusables kit which my mechanic installed.

I work at a dealership, and have access to a press plus lots of tools, and most important alot of mechanics. I will keep trying to get Shep or TRE on the phone. Did you do all of the common upgrades?

No, I just did a basic rebuild using their parts. Synchros, magnet, trash filter, bearings/races etc. Nothing fancy. TRE's synchros are great, I'm very happy with them.
