so i cant post anywhere else for some reason. idk

anyway,
im getting a 95 turbo awd talon. its auto and the auto trans needs replacing anyway so can i put a 5-speed in it and does it have to be a awd 5-speed turbo trans or just a 5-speed turbo trans?

what would be a price for this at a shop if i didnt feel like doing it myself?

thanks guys:dsm:

It has to be a 5 speed AWD trans, you'll also need the rear diff. from a 5 speed car, pedals, etc. etc. The guys out at Jack's Transmissions will do the conversion for $3200. Here's a link to there website. Use the search feature next time, or you'll get a lot of s**t from people on here.

You can only post in the newbie forum because you're a newbie.

You'll need the front halfshafts and intermediate shaft, I believe. Along with the above mentioned, 5speed clutch pedal assemby, 5speed brake pedal assemby, holcutting tools to cut into the firewall for the clutch master cylinder, the clutch cylinders, clutch lines, transmission cables... Basically you need access to an awd 5speed car. . .

You know the automatic is easier/cheaper to upgrade to handle higher power than the 5speed. It can tolerate 8500rpm shifts better and will also last longer when modified than a manual that has been built to handle the same power, because the 5speed needs to be shimmed "tight" which kills gears due to heat over time. . . What are your goals?

i can definitely get a donor car,

id like to push around 320 hp probably not going to take it to the strip but would do an occasional red light race

when you get it all done there are 2 wires from the auto trans harness on the car that have to be hooked to the clutch peddle in order for it to start .it closes the circuit so it will start . In my 91 the holes were there in the fire wall but not drilled out ,so you can use those as your template . good luck ,not a really hard job .
