M/T Trans Help

So I have the gst torn apart and the trans case is whats broken. Aall of the internals are still good. here is my dilema, the car is a dd as well as my project, I know nothing about transmissions....I have the good case to swap all of my interals into...but not the know how and I am on a very limited budget and would like to take the car to mod day as well as be able to drive places myself instead of asking for rides. so I guess what I am getting at is does anyone know of a reputable person or business that could do the clutch housing (front part of the case) swap that wouldnt cost me an arm and a leg? I've called a few places but no one wants to mess with "import" transmissions. If anyone has any input or suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.

Your cheapest option IMHO is to do one of a few things.

pull a identical DSM from the bell housing back, and swap it out.

Also a N/t 3000gt or stealth will also work by removing the bell housing from the 3s and using yours. The gear ratio's are also identical.

Luckily there are Write ups how to drop a tranny, so the only cost to you is time and a junkyard tranny. Keeping your old one for parts for a later rebuild should you need it would be ideal.

Tim Zimmer (twicks69) is likely the closest well known trans shop. You can do it your self but when you swap cases you'll have to shim the bearings correctly if you want it to last and work correctly. That's the part that takes time and patience as well as a selection of shims.
