My door handle on the passenger side just broke and i was wondering if anyone could send me a link on some good door handles i have a 1998 eclipse gst and if any tips on how to remove and install

There some youtube vids on it pretty easy. Just go with OEM then what I did is put some gorilla glue around the arm LOL just because there notorious for breaking and didn't wanna do it again made it lil stronger.pull panel off undo hook to metal bar pull lock pin then pull lock tumbler out can't remember if I had to undo any bolts to get it out was a while ago I did this.

Looks like the billet ones are out of stock but they do a run every now and then.

I ordered billet handles after breaking 4 driver side handles. And that's on a car that rarely gets touched or driven and being extra gentle with them. Any OEM handles from a junkyard will be better quality than the reproductions, but at this point they're brittle and have no guaranteed lifespan. Most reproductions have a 1 year warranty but they don't like honoring their warranty and you still pay to ship a replacement. The reason he talks of discontinuation is because it can take multiple months just to get 10 people on board with buying them. And a couple people will back out because of the wait time. I mean we're on group buy #5 right now and it's been going for a couple months, still haven't reached 10 orders yet. I'm waiting it out though. If you snap a billet handle, you were trying to break it.

Not sure where you got your numbers, when I ordered at the end of September there was 6 spots remaining in the group buy.

I can't remember where I saw this many years ago, but there is a way to repair the broken handles that has held up very well for me.

The trick is to remove the pivot pin, slice down the middle of the broken arm length-wise (both broken halves) with a hacksaw including where the pin goes. Leave some material on the ends so you just have a slit but the pieces stay intact. Cut a piece of sheet metal in the same shape as the material you just cut out so it slips into the cutaway, including where the pin goes. Lather up the slits with JB Weld and insert your metal piece, bringing the break together so they are held together by the metal/jb weld. Make sure it's all aligned right and let it cure. Drill out the pin and reassemble handle.

The first time I did this I stopped there. It held up OK but the JB Weld eventually broke. So I found some small roller pins at home depot. Aligned the broken plastic pieces and drilled out two holes, through the plastic and donor sheet metal, to receive the roller pins on the handle side of the break (opposite side of the original pivot pin). JB Weld, reassemble broken pieces, tap in roller pins and let cure. So one side has the pivot pin and the other side has two roller pins.

Here's a visual, (not sure where I was going with the yellow arrows).
