Hey guys when i bought my GSX eclipse the cruise did not work. Now i am trying to get it to work again. The light on the switch will come on but when i try to set my speed it wont set. So i was wondering if anyone knew what is up with it.

Also my brother recently crashed a 99 dodge avenger (which has the same interior set up as an eclipse because they were shared at the time) and i was wondering if i could use the cruise parts from the avenger and use them on my eclipse.

Any knowledge on this would be greatly appriated! Thanks.

You didn't say if it's manual or auto, so I'll assume manual. There are 2 switches at the clutch pedal, one and the top of the travel and one at the bottom. Make sure that when the clutch pedal is all of the way up, it is depressing that switch as that is for the cruse control. If that switch is not pressed, the cruse won't set. I would think that there is a switch just like that on the brake pedal too, but I don't remember on that.

Hey guys i just decided to bring it to the shop and have them fix it. They said it was the cruise unit. So my question for your guys is if the 99 dodge avenger cruise unit is compatible to my 98 gsx eclipse. I think they are have the same interior and beening closely related.

If anyone know please let me know. Thanks!

One thing to look for is an extra fuse. On my car, there's a lone fuse in it's own holder (outside of the junction box) that needed to be inserted and good in order for my cruise to work. It may have been something that a PO installed, but that seemed unlikely.

The fuse is located under the dash on the driver's side. You should be able to see it pretty easily, unless this is a quirk to my car.

Well my mechanic said hes positive its a bad cruise unit. I can get one for 100 dollars but since i got a extra dodge avenger for parts laying around i thought i could just take his. But i guess not and i am just gana have to buy one from someone.
