im starting this forum like a poll. i want to know (and sure others too) how many of you tuners have actually gotten crank walk on there 2g and wanna hear all the people that havent. please just leave a reply if u have gotten it or not. thanx-greatly appreciated

just wanna see how common everyone makes it seem

I'm sure it can be reported to some sort of consumer protection agency.

I hate when it takes someone to die because of crank failure for Mutsu to act on it.
I have '91 1G which gave me a scare recently, but it turned out ot be a tranny (whew..)

we are basicly screwed. Alot of the cw cases have been on modded cars, so that means we can't use any of them as proof. even if we could, It would put mitsu out of biusnes if they had to put a new motor in every 2g turbo, so the will do anything to avoid it. I belive somebody allready tried to start a lawsuit, but it fell through.
 
I hate starting a new thread on the same topic..but i want to see a real time result on 2g's CWing. If everyone could bare with me and post up their results again..but this time everything should be a lot clearer. Sorry chris for high jacking thread. I will quote you with the same question as the other topic.

CL MaNTis GST-You are right. But I am happy that my car got cw when it did, because it was under the warranty. And now my car is like new again. It had 77507 miles on it when it walked and now it have 3000. I think most people would be happy if this happen to them and they were in my same situation.
 
88K no walk or any signs i get chills when i take hard lefts with the clutch down though LOL *knocks on wood*
 
Crankwalking a 95 three times isnt an option ;) So I thought I'd mention it here. All were "new" factory mitsu motors. The first lasted 30k, the second 40k, the third 50k. And it was that last one that lasted the longest while running 12s all of its life with a 2600 etc etc... It would have lasted longer but the oil pan was dented while changing a head gasket, and it CWed that same night. Just wanted to toss that out there...
 
Mine has 113K and is just starting to do the clutch thing where it doesn't wanna come up right away after a left turn. It's nothing serious as of right now though and I don't have any other symptoms so i'm gonna replace the clutch and throw out bearing and pray that that's all it was.

Your profile doesnt list a clutch, but ACT 2600 in a 2g 7 bolt=crankwalk.

well it means that there is a higher chance of getting it..not that if you get a 2600 you are going to get CW. I know a couple 2gs that are running it and havent ran into any problem yet. Its just something that raise the stakes. Sucks you cant really have the best of both worlds with this damn 7bolt.

Yeah thats true, but Im staying away from the 2600. But I am buying a complete 6 bolt next month....but my bottom end is fine so Im just gonna use the head/throttle body/intake manny/turbo. But im keeping the block around just incase mine walks some day.
