Anyone ever see this before and what would cause this?

It was in my car. I have some poor motor mounts in there currently I'm wondering I'd the intake hit the fire wall or something. I have some poly mounts I was gonna put in when I put my shep stage 4 in but I guess I'll have to put them in before that

I was gonna say overtightening too but I think it would strip the bolt holes before that since its an aluminum head... it could happened last time someone pulled that engine out. if it was hitting the firewall tho then it would have to hit it pretty hard repeatedly plus if it buckled it would have broke all the bolt holes not just the bottom ones

Good lord......OMG

I have seen similar results from incorrect support of intakes on other cars, as stated above check to see if it impacted anything, was there any porting done to ut that could have stressed it?

I don't see any sign on porting, the runner on the passenger side of intake is also cracked on top the same as bottom. I don't see any sign of it hitting the fire wall ether I would think there would be some sort of scrape on the mani or wear on the the fire wall but there's nothing, there is a balance shaft eliminator in there and I think it's causing some vibration you think that could cause that some how?

No nitrous bro were only taliking about a 450 hp dsm not a auto swapped 800 hp monster LOL

New manifold cleaned up nice, wish I could run my 1g magnus, gotta save that for my 2.3l

So did you take this off and then find this or was it while it was on the car! I can only guess 2 things, dirt was on the surface and her time it's cracked it or was not cleaned well enough prior or the bolts for the bracket came loose and have made the intake crack.

Yeah I noticed the crack on one of the top runners and it started to run like a vacuum leak LOL so I ordered a new intake it came today pulled the old one off to find out all the runners were cracked the guy used rtv to seal with the gasket so 2 of the pieces stayed on the head I had to peel them off

The bolts seemed to be torqued fine idk I didn't struggle to break em loose All tho I'm kinda a beast but it seemed like they were not over tight

To me it looks like someone lifted the motor by the unsupported intake. It looks like tje whole manifold was torqued up and a into the engine.

I think it would take ALOT of movement for the engine to torque over and hit the firewall like that....like so far that the front or rear motor mount (or both) was missing completely.

If the bolts were overtorqued they would strip before that aluminum would break. That's a thick piece and the threads wont take that kinda abuse before they strip. I've stripped those bolts a few times and never had the intake fall apart.

My guess is previous damage from being dropped or a bad rigging on the manifold itself when being pulled.
