ok so I did a compression test and I got 180, 175, 170, and 165. would this mean I have bad compression and bad rings??

Nope. Means you probably have some carbon in one or two cylinders. Did you do the test hot? Does the car run ok and does it smoke?

Stock 2g compression is around 180psi with service limit being 130psi. All cylinders should be within about 15psi of each other. So no, I wouldn't call the compression bad.

Also, if your battery is weak then you will get a lower reading with every crank.

Looks fine to me. That's about the spread I have on my motor and it runs great with 35 psi boost!

Compression test looks good, how many miles and mods? What concerns do you have to have done the compression test? If you like me and just want to go through things, then I'd say move on an don't worry about compression...do a mild tune up check the timing belt do a BLt and enjoy!

I was burning oil pretty bad and my buddy told me it could be the rings. I was running full synthetic and he told me that's why I was burning. me and my buddy did the test and he said it was fine. then other people told me me was bad. so I just didn't know.

and it's a stock rebuild with 8500 miles on the motor and tranny. only mods I have is a full 3 in exhaust and an hks bov. I'm gunna do some work on it This winter. and I just got it like 3 months ago and I'm just makin sure everything is all good and there's no surprises

yea we did the test hot and the car runs just fine and it did smoke a little when I accelerated but I just changed the oil and I'm gunna see if it does it with some thicker oil.
