Hi everyone, after a very long time of searching I have finally acquired an automatic first gen. Let me start off by giving you a rundown of my history and plans. I have a 5 speed car DSM that I have raced and owned for several years. For the past 2 years I have been racing a 94 Honda Civic in bracket races at several different tracks with a lot of success in my bracket class. The great thing about the Civic was it was very inexpensive to maintain and repair. She was a great little racer, but I've always held onto my DSM that I have owned for all of these years. I recently put some thought into what to use as a track car because after 2 years of abuse the Civic was in need of major repairs to keep it going. So I put some thought into the classes I race in and how I want to be in a faster class without sinking a ton of money into the Civic and the decision finally came to mind that it was time to step up and step back into a dsm as a racecar. I don't plan to go 8s with this car, I don't plan on chopping the car up like the Civic and my other 92 Talon. I wanted a classy looking bracket 1/11.50 index car with plans in the future to maybe step it up to 10.50 index. So my search began. And after months of trying to find the right Automatic AWD first gen, this is what I ended up with. You can see my other Talon in some of the pctures.

The car is very clean but is in need of a lot of repairs. The person I purchased the car from owned it for less then 2 months beat the living piss out of it and couldn't at all understand why anyone in their right mind would want an automatic. I drove 14 hours round trip to pick it up, handed him the money loaded it up and away I went. Their is no rust anywhere, the paint seems to be originally and their is not a spot of clear coat fade anywhere on the car!!! I really scored even with all of the mechanical issues. It does run and drive actually though in its current condition. I hope you all are as excited as me. First race of the season is less then 2 months away. I'll make a push to be there but not banking on it to much. Here are some pictures of some of the success I have had with both my Civic(which has been parted out) R.I.P. and my Talon

Great history, sounds like your going to do this 1g auto right. Good luck with your build and I will be checking in from time to time!

Forgive me if I interrupt but technically I'm new to the forum and would not know where to find the information or guidance necessary for adaptation to desire.

I have a first generation 91 Mitsubishi GSX, which has all its sensors, but want to install a wired engine with second-generation Black Box ECU or at least start it for the first time with a stock ECU .

I know it can be done , but I have no knowledge of knowing that wiring adapter or other details need to have to make to operate normally without damaging any parts . I have the wiring of a 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX .

I ask for help because you have more experience and knowledge in the forum.

You should start your own thread or do some more searching for "black box/evo ecu in a 1g dsm".

You can put a black box in a 1g, you will need an adapter harness from the 1g harness to the evo plugs (diy or ask one of the freelancers/members here, a couple make them), as well as a tactrix cable, obd2 plug wired into your adapter, then evoscan or ecuflash software. I may be missing some details. U need to do alot more research tho, and there are lots of resources if you search here, dsmtalk, evom, and in general all over google.
 
Haven't had to much free time to go over the car yet. Work and a big snowstorm have slowed me down, but I do know it was in need of a new transfer case due to a quick look underneith the car when I went and purchased the car. Transfer case fluid full of metal shavings was dripping and covered the transfer case. A pre owned transfer case has been ordered and is on it's way so the car can at least be drivable. Once drivable I can take the car to my job where I can go over the car with a fine tooth comb on a lift. I will also be changing all of the fluids in the car so figured I would grab the fluids I need for the transfer case and rear end. Red line heavy shock proof is what I have chosen to use in the transfer case and rear. I have always use to use lightweight shock proof in my transfer cases over the years but have been reading more and more people are using the heavy in their transfer cases now so figured I would go that path.

I also have yet to go threw my own personal garage and see what is laying around that can be used on this car. I've been drawing up a fuel setup for it. Updates soon!!!
 
So I have been able to get a good amount of work done on the GSX since the last update. I got the car drivable and have actually been able to drive it to and from work every day after changing the transfer case. The car has a lot of minor issues that I have been sorting out slowly but surely.

I replaced the egr valve on the back of the intake manifold with an egr blockoff plate. That allowed me to eliminate all of the vacuum lines and also the fuel pressure solenoid, which had some damage somehow to the wiring.

It most certainly cleaned the engine bay up a good amount.
I also hacked up the air can while I had it out, along with disassembling the battery tray to clean and paint it,

I know this is all basic stuff but it a start.
