Okay so recently my 99 eclipse gs spyder stopped running. It does turn on and I can give it throttle to keep it running but it’ll die down and shut off.

So I connected an OBD scanner and it showed me a code for:
“CMP sensor power circuit is open or shorted to ground (check power to MFI relay)”

and another for
“PCM has failed ( the PCM provides the 5v VREF to the sensor)”

What are some ways I can check the power circuit for the CMP?
And check on the PCM?

I’m assuming the PCM isn’t getting readings from the CMP causing it to fail? Idk but please correct me if I’m wrong.

Have you physically looked at the crankshaft position sensor yet to determine if it has an issue?

I’ve replaced the camshaft position sensor if that’s what you’re referring to. Just replaced it yesterday, I erased the history on the obd and the same codes popped up again. Should I take a look at the crankshaft sensor?

Yes, inspect its position and its wiring for fraying or a damaged sensor or broken wire.

Sure, crossing fingers you find something obvious.

Started troubleshooting yesterday with relays and components related to the camshaft position sensor. Tested the mfi relay which is sending out the correct signal/amps to the sensor. Tested the wiring harness connected onto the camshaft position sensor and its conducting the correct 5v to the sensor. The sensor is new replaced a couple days ago. What more can I do test the camshaft position sensor for a possible open circuit?
