Changing head gasket, Will this work?

As long as the tune is good, yeah. Bad tune, lots of knock with composite gasket= blown headgasket. Bad tune, lots of knock with metal gasket= Youll blow the pistons out of it before you know anything is wrong...

Are you suggesting to stay away from MLS gaskets? Or upgrade the internals with MLS gaskets?
 
To use a metal gasket you should machine both the block and the head to get a proper seal. If you don't have both surfaced then you should really use the composite gasket, anyway as a answer to your question yes the Felpro gaskets work great.

Well, with metal gaskets, youve got to have the proper surface on both head and block, which means the op would have to pull and gut the motor. Mainly, in my opinion, metal gaskets are for well built, high boost, high output motors that see tons of abuse. You can lift the head just as easily with the metal gasket and push coolant from excessive cylinder pressures and if you dont know what youre doing with the tune, you could kill bearings, break ring lands etc before you knew it. With the composite, if youre lucky, if you get some crazy amounts of knock you might just lift the head, burn the gasket and start pissing smoke out the tailpipe and stop before you frag anything else. This is just going by what Ive personally seen people do to these cars over the years, take it for what you will.

It seemed like it was a general statement rather than a statement meant for the OP. His case, definitely agree on the composite. If it was a decked blocked and milled head and surfaces came out smooth then I would definetly recommend a MLS rather than a composite regardless of Internals assuming it won't be a crappy tune that would destroy anything possible. I don't know if you meant on his build specifically but I wouldn't say on a bad tune with a MLS a piston would go before anything. I think there are too many variables to be able to say that would happen with a bad tune and MLS.

But your explanation cleared it up, and I know you have some experience in the game!
