will stock head gasket work???

hey, i have a 1st gen 7 bolt that was just decked and the head was also. Wondering if the stock headgasket will work for what i want. I want to either be pushing the limits of my 14b fo get a 16g and run big boost through it. Basicly will keep turning up the boost until i hit my goal, and that is to be running in the low 13's.

stock Headgasket will work fine

Yes what he said, stock head gasket will hold more then you can imagine, aske me how I know this

Yes, that is what I am using with ARP's.

are you using the one that comes in the complete engine gasket kit, or are you using the Mitsu multi layer metal head gasket

I don't know which one he is running, but the regular stock one can hold 450hp and 11's without a problem. You'd have to do some serious screwing up with tuning to blow one of those with a 16g.

I am running a OEM mitsu composite head gasket that I get from the dealership, the car is making over 500whp for the et's and MPH that the car runs with the weight of the car being at 3150 with me in it, that is ruffly around 520whp, maybe more, but I really don't care for dyno's, just good et's and mph.

If you know what your doing, you will be ok, but one mistake and bam, you lost the head gasket. Detonation is what kills headgaskets and improper head stud tourqe.

I have ARP's tourqed to 95ft lbs with 30 weight oil. Same tourqe value as we had on the tourqe plate while being honed.

No, not with composite head gasket. Just a good clean head surface and block deck.

hey guys, thanks for the help. I went to the dealership today and ordered the gasket kit. Hey Evil, thanks for all the help. I hope i can get my car running and to the track this summer.
