Ok so I try to turn my car on a couple of hours ago and it won't even try to crank or turn over or anything... kind of like if the battery was dead.... BUT the battery is not dead. The CEL is flashing slowly which I haven't seen before and I am hoping can point me in the right direction????? One thing i have in mind but hope is wrong is the timing belt tensioner. About a month or two ago i had the timing belt and timing belt pulleys replaced BUT i did not replace the timing belt tensioner (which i was advised to do so). Does anybody have any ideas??

Thanks guys,

from a college student in dire need of his DSM to be working again so he may go to class and fail extremely hard exams.

oh yeah and ever since i had the timing belt changed my car has been burning oil and smoking a lot.

could be a bad tensioner, theres a chance your timing belt might have skipped some teeth on the cam pulleys, thats probably whats causing your engine to smoke. does it stumble or does it not idle correctly.

and if it were to be the tensioner, what do you think is an estimate that a shop would charge to install a new one if i bought the tensioner? am i looking at a lot of money here?

Ok so my check engine light read a code 55. Which I found to be (Idle air control (IAC) valve position sensor fault.) if I am not mistaken. Does anybody know where this is or how to fix it?

edit:

I found this ebay link showing an IAC, is this the part that has gone bad in my car?

Would it cause the car not to start? Is it an easy fix (just take off part and put on new one)?
I've been doing some reading on the BISS but am not familiar enough with it to know if it could be just that and/or the O-Ring on the BISS. Heck I dont even know if the BISS is part of the IAC and would therefore come attached on a new IAC if i bought one??

thanks!
