Just a short background..

Background:
My car overheated, fans weren't kicking on, i saw the wire/connector to fan was melted beyond help. So we ended up just making the fans on a switch..
Long story short, my wire caught fire because i was a idiot without a inline fuse, and the battery then caught fire as well..

I recently bought the mishimoto slim fan and shroud kit, we wired the fans to how the forum says too, and then when i connect to dsmlink, and click "turn fans on" the fans don't do anything. But if i click, turn fuel pump on, it kicks on, so i know its not link..

I have read multiple articles, and nothing has helped me..

Any idea where to look?

You probably fried your wiring in numerous places, are you saying you Totally rewired since the fire? If not, sorry to say but its probably time to do a full rewire.

Also testing for power is a good option to find where the power is reaching.

The fire only melted a wire i ran from the fan straight to the battery, because im a dips***, and ran a ground to the frame of car, then ran the line to a switch, that caught on fire, only that line, and that line was wrapped around the battery, which burned through the battery,..

No lines in my harness went. =) just to clarify that, i just posted that background to show that i since went to slim fans and a small battery...

Like they said is it a full rewire? If so check the corresponding fuses and relay they most likely blew. Hopefully the wire when melted did not mess anything in the circuitry inside your ecu. If you did not rewire the right way back to ecu, then you wont be able to use link to control the fans.

Forget what i said about the fire,

I am asking for information regarding how to figure out how to continue going backwards until i figure out where i need to go.

I have the fans wired CORRECTLY, both POS colors to the POS on fan, and Both NEG colors to the NEG on fan..

Now, which relays//fuses do i check? any other sensors?

If your stock fan harness are not melted and ok. Wire up the slims to the stock harness. Link can control fans through stock harness.

That is what im trying to do, i have the connectors spliced in and ran stock connectors, to the stock harness..

update; i know the fans are wired correctly, because when i turn the blower motor on, through the cabin of the car, the driver side (AC) fan kicks on just fine... but my passenger side (RAD) ran one kick one..

I just can't get the rad fan to turn on with link, and haven't tried to put the car up to temp where they kick on because i don't want to overheat and ecmlink should kick them on..

Check all fuses and relays to fan and ac just to check they all good. Coolant temp sensor, but if relays and fuses good. Once you turn on fans on link they will automatically turn on once you have your key on the accessory or on position

If ac both should be kicking with link. If you are just wanting them to stay on all time then connect the wire for the rad fan with that of the ac

i checked my relays, all the high and low rad and ac relays are working..
i checked my (RAD fuse 20-30amp what ever it was) and it wasn't broken, but still replaced with new fuse..

When i turn the key on, and turn the ac blower on, my driver side fan turns on..
When i go to dsmlink, and hit "turn fans on high" nothing happens, nether fan work..

Keep sending me in the right direction people! im getting somewhere.

Also im still positive my wiring is right.

Do not want to say the wrong thing but keep the settings on link to has fans run constant. With a volt meter negative to body and tap all points to that harness one with voltage is your power if im right. Harness has two I think one for low one for high not sure witch one.link uses. Sorry if I am wrong. Just going of basic stuff.

UPDATE:

When i click on dsmlink to turn both fans on, nothing happens.. I swapped out my ecu with my buddies v3, and still no luck, so i know the ecu is good..

I found when i gave power to each relay individual they would all turn the fan on except one..

When we put power to this one rad fan high speed relay, it would pop a fuse on our tester, does that mean this one has a short to it? when we test to see if anything on this relay has power, we noticed it does not..
but all the rest of the relays do have power going to them..

Now my question is, does this rad fan high speed relay have anything to do with the ECU wiring? there are four wires and the colors are

Blue/Black tracer - Top
Black - Middle
Green with Black Tracer - Bottom left
Blue with Red Tracer - Bottom Right

Would these wires so happen to go back to the ECU? if you know?

Also, would this fuse have anything to do with both AC and RAD fan turning on at same time through ecmlink?

When i turn the fan on from the blower motor, the AC fan turns on just fine..

Picture of the Relay..
