hi on my 97 gst in second or third gear when i wot at about 2,000 rpms to about 3500 rpms, my car like stutters. it builds boost fine but right in those rpms, in those gears it sputters then it will keep building boost like normal. i feel the same power just the stutter or whatever it is scares me. it does it for like a split second but you can definitely feel it. i just put a dejon intake on it with my greddy type s recirculated. also i added a catch can. on my stock t25 with a turbo xs boost controller also. any help would be great on to what it could be.

My car does this sometimes in 2nd but it's because I'm pretty much maxing out my fuel pump. How much boost are you running? Totally forgot to mention this but sputtering like that is usually a spark issue I'd check your plugs and wires. Id honestly replace the plugs anyway since they are super cheap.

right now its hitting stock. about 11 or 12 psi. i dont have a wideband yet so im not sure about my afrs. but i need to change my plugs i think. i took them out and they were way off so i gapped them at .028. but they were black. so i think i need to change them. but could it have anything to do with my dejon intake pipe i just put on? thanks

Yeah, definitely change the plugs since they are so cheap and easy to do. If for some reason it still does it, I would be looking at replacing the wires next. Good luck.

Before you start buying parts, even with spark plugs being as cheap as they are, do a boost leak test. That would be the first thing I would recommend for you to do, especially since you just installed parts on the car.

I agree that it could very well be the spark plugs, but why buy parts when it can be such a simple and free fix?

Edit: I just saw your follow-up post, definitely change your spark plugs then but I would still do a boost leak test for good measure, it can't hurt.

I second this

yeah i had an issue with my car not boosting and stalling and all sorts of driveability issues. Turns out a mouse had managed to get it's way into my intake (i didn't have a filter on it just intercooler piping i used to make an intake) and i sucked that bastar* up into my turbo :ohdamn:!! it was just a 14b but it def ruined the turbo. so yeah check to see if you have a mouse in your intake LOL!!
