Ok so i f'd up. i sprayed my enginge down with degreaser and sprayed it clean with a garden hose. i covered up the maf sensor and removed the maf and air filter to do it, now when i start my car it ildes fine. but when i drive the whole car shakes and runs like crap. I was thinking boost leak maybe or did putting water on the engine f it up.. Let me know what you guys think. I appreciated the help. I will be doing a boost leak test to check it out tomorrow for sure but i doubt its that.thanks again.

1998 tsi with fmic stock turbo.

tell me about it. this is my second one and its never easy. thanks im keeping mine crossed too.well see for sure tomorrow

well i just got back home. car drove like shit the whole way was sputtering again and this time the cel came on and stayed on. ill post tomorrow once i get it scanned.thanks jb

well just an update... got the car scanned. It was throwing P0300 multiple missfire, and P0105. So i bought new plugs and wires while i was at the store, went home pulled my plugs all 4 were fouled, wires had water in them so i replaced them. But the car still is throwing the P10105 which is faulty map connection so now i have to fix that...any thoughts on how besides cleaning the map? Thanks everyone for all your help so far.

Have you done a Boost Leak Test yet?

Yes no boost leaks anywhere. i was suprised. i usually spend half my time chasing them down.LOL

The MAP is integrated in the MAF so double check the plug and clean for corrosion.

So it was misfire like I thought :thumb:

CHECK ECU! See if it smells like burnt electronics or shellfish.. Also look at the sodders and capacitors.

Every time i have had this problem it was from getting moisture in the coil pack through hairline fractures in the casing wich threw the same codes and symptoms. One DSM has caulk (redneck fix) placed over the cracks in the coil to fix the problems and make the codes go away and the car run 100% again, and the other needed a coil pack replacement. Might be worth taking the pack off for a close look.... just saying out of experience
