in the past couple weeks:
seafoam in gas, intake, oil
changed plugs/wires
changed pcv
checked vacuum lines i could SEE for leaks
cleaned injectors

The car has a very shaky idle, it fluctuates a lot, when i tap the brake, idle drops, and when i turn on the headlights idle drops as well, but not as drastically as when i hit the brake. Sometimes the idle will rest and be very normal. I broke 2 motor mounts, so got polyurethane inserts(big mistake) and i have 3/4 in(can't get that damn back mount off) so this makes the car vibrate even worse.

If someone can diagnose this, and be right, i WILL love them in the most heterosexual way possible. This car was given to me 4 years ago by my friend's mom, and it sat for 4 years. I'd like to keep it b/c other than this it's in good condition =\

Ummm, you don't have umm... 4 year old gas do you? I don't think that stuff is "fresh" anymore. :)

The mounts are imfamous for vibrating like crazy. You alternator might be going out as well since your headlights 'cause a flucuation in idle rpm.

no i've put a good 4k miles on the car since it started going again... and replaced the fuel filter twice, cleaned the fuel system, etc. I went to a shop today and he said double check vacuum lines and check the egr to see if it's stuck open, but i dont think that would cause the idle fluctuation. Thanks for the input, i'll be getting a new alternator most likely since my system gets here tomorrow.

Remove, open, and sniff the black capacitors, if there is a fishy (literally) smell, then take it to an electronics repair shop that knows how to solder, and have them replace the capacitors. I have the capacitors, email me and i will ship them out to you.

I had mine done, they only charged me $30 (compared to $195 alot of other companies charge).
