hi guy's. i was driving in the highway today and i notice that my car is smoking a little bit.but when i came to a stop then the car is smoking a lot more.i check the lower ic pipe and this is oil on it. i check the turbo shaft but there is no play on it..can i still drive my car home..25 k away from my home.pls help.what could be the problem. thanks

you could probly make it home but thats it, check your oil level before you leave. It sounds like the seals went out in your turbo. Did it run ok? because if its not your turbo it could be a bad head gasket.

it runs ok,but the check engine light went on.if the turbo went, the shaft had a paly to right? thanks for the reply. need more info pls.

I would have to go with the turbo seal being blown, and I don't know if shaft play would matter, because I know oil flow helps stiffen the shaft. Maybe someone can step up with some experience.

white. i start the car again and there no smoke comming out yet.it only happen when your driving it for a while.running rich could cost it to? thank you guys for the help.

White smoke means coolant. I would recommend doing a compression test to make sure its not a blown head gasket. If its white you could have a blown head gasket, or if you have a water cooled turbo you could still possibly have a blown turbo since they are water cooled too. But if its a blown turbo you would have a mix of white and blue smoke, from the oil and the coolant.

i have white smoke too but mines is alot at idle and even more driving iam guessing mines is a bad hg but iam going to do a compression test soon to be sure

i will do the comp test tomorrow. how much comp i should get if the head gasket is blown.is it normal to have the cel came on whene you have a lot of smoke comming out from the car? thanks again guys.

well idk because my cel didnt come on

If the smoke is white i would go with the turbo or a head gasket, what does it sound like? if anything is sounding like a supercharger then it is most likely your turbo. See if the car is loosing coolant too, if so then that could be your head gasket

i check the oil cup but there is no whitefoum on it.the turbo sounded ok to me. how much you guys think it will cost me to fix the turbo or head gasket.thank you.

hi guys. i did the comp.test todayand i got 150across.but i notice that the cach can has some white foum in it and the turbo sounded like something is rubbing. what you guys think.what sould i do.do you think they went at the same time? is it posible.i need help ,thank you

sounds like a turbo another 16g costs about $600 for a real and 220 for a ebay knock off. Or i wonder if the valve stem seals would cause this

:pray:i just order a ported big 16g from ebay and a kit to rebueld my 14b turbo. hope it will com tomorrow.

You are telling me you just bought a new 16g as well as a 14b rebuild kit, and never even bothered to check what your check engine code was?
