car smoking

today i went out and noticed i had oil all over my valve cover by the spark plugs, i took the plugs out and that area was full of oil, i cleaned it new gaskets and all and noticed that when i started my car it smoked like a mother ####er, and on my palm pilot i was running PIG rich, i made the adjustments and my car runs good. anyone know why this happened. maybe all four cylinders werent firing right or what??

if you had oil in your spark plug wells and you were changing the valve cover, then you might have gotten some oil in your combustion chamber.

either way, if it stopped smoking and is running the was it was, then i wouldn't worry about it.
