I have an automatic 98 GSX and when I'm driving and hit the gas to try and go fast my rpms will go high and shift and everything but it still doesn't go fast I can be at 6000 rpms and it won't feel like it's pulling but the engine does get sort of loud when I gas it hard but I'm sure that's normal due to the high rpms but what do you guys think? I've taken care of my boost looks also

Automatic car....Check trans fluid level??? Torque converter could be the culprit but check your fluid for color, smell and of course proper level.

Hello... When was the last time you did a good engine tune up?? Plugs/wires, fuel filter (BIG power-robber if it begins to clog), air filter, etc.?

Automatic, T25, stock boost...this doesn't make for a fast or responsive setup. It could just be the stock slowness, what are you used to driving before this? Is this your first DSM and can you give us more details? Saying "It's not fast" can come down to relativity. Saying "the rpms rise fast, but the car stays near the same mph, and it clunks very hard when I put it into drive" is a technical issue we can help with.

... It's not a given that they changed your fuel filter during the fuel pump change. It's a quick, cheap, and easy thing to just replace and KNOW for a fact that it's good... Also a clogged fuel filter shortens the life of your fuel pump. It would be sad if you had to replace a fuel pump again because of a 17 dollar filter.

First DSM but my brother has a GS and his even picks up speed faster than mine does. You are right I need more details another think I can think of is at a stop it takes off pretty sluggish if that makes any sense

MasterMatt, follow 1990TSIAWDTALON's advice. The fuel filter is a good place to look, but my first thought is check the transmission fluid and the level. From there perform a boost leak test and see if anything is leaking. Etc.

Checking the catalytic converter is also a great suggestion.

Thanks a lot I'll be doing all of this over the next few days when I have time I'll report back with what I find hopefully I can fix the problems.
