car idles very bad!!!! please help....

hey dsmer's. got a 99 eclipse rs m/t with top-end fully built. here is my problem. the car idle's very bad when i stop at stop sign. the rpm stay around 1.5k for a secound and then drop around 300, 200 and then stalls sometimes it doesnt stall but jumps 200-1.3k. for the car not to stall i have to keep gasin it till im ready to move. please help. this is very annoayin and embarassing. Thanks

does it have the check engine light on it might be the IACV= idle, air, control, valve

does it just drop and stay down there or does it surge up and down?

its drops to 2-300 and the surges back up 1.3-1.5k

hey dsmtuners. this is the update so far. i replaced all the vaccum lines but not the iacv yet. here is the thing. when i remove the vac line from the pcv going to the valve cover the car doesnt idle bad at all. the pcv is still connect to the intake mainfold. do you think it mite be the valve cover gasket? or still the iacv?

I'm not to sure about this problem, but did you try cleaning the throttle body, use the cleaner and then change the gasket. This might help, should take 5mins the most.

you should update your profile to your mods... when you say top end fully built do you mean upgraded camshafts as well? If so this is a somewhat common problem with camshafts, sometimes the ECU needs time to learn the new set-up and until then can cause idle problems, its also possible the timing could be off.
