ya so i have had these special type lugs on my car since i bought it from someone else. I have avoided removing the rims because of this but the time has now come to figure this out, as i am replacing my clutch. so i can fit a 17mm on it kinda but its somewhat loose still. Do you guys know where i can find a socket to remove these? i cant give you a pic of my special lugs just yet but i can describe them as having 6 slots around them and being rather long.

what ive done in the past was find a socket that was snug fitting on there and pounding it on with a hammer and then using a breaker bar to take it off

go to walmart, look in the automotive section, or autozone as well.

its a common aftermarket lug and easy to get a new key, although you'll have to buy a new set.

or you could go buy regular lugs and pay a tire place to take them off, i personally just pound a socket on and take them off. i then have to spend 5 minutes working the lug out of the socket, but hey its free.

ya i cant give you the pic right now cause were working on it at another persons house a few miles away. youl see me posting a lot the next few days were trying to replace my clutch by Saturday morning. None of us know much about actual car maintenance. so... ya i think there were 5 of us today working on it. we removed my air intake, powersteering, exhaust manifold, clutch cable, master cylinder, throttle cable thinger, sensors, shifters on top of the transmission,a ton of wiring harnesses, my battery, and my battery bracket. Only to put it all back on to test if the master cylinder was the problem with my clutch, which we ended up not being able to test since my coupling wont screw all the way back into my master cylinder leaving my clutch fluid to spill all over. WE REALLY NEED HELP

1. on top of those problems we cant get my wheels off.... (as seen above)
2. cant get the fill plug off on the transmission
3. cant get the coupling back in
4. we dont have any pneumatic tools
5. my clutch parts still have not arrived
6. and now im questioning if i got the right flywheel as i purchased a 7bolt and someone told me i may have a 6bolt... my manufacture date is may

:beatentodeath: -> :dsm:

ya that sucks im fairly sure i ordered a 7bolt LOL i do know that this motor is a swap. the guy before me ordered this offline he said it was a new jdm spec motor. so i wonder if that makes a difference. here's a pic of the motor

well the thing is i was also told that its a 2.2L engine not a 2.0 or a 1.8 which i believe is SOHC anyways. maybe when he ordered the block it didnt come with the turbo. I know the compression is really low and i have very low oil pressure on my gauge. i lost his number otherwise id just call him ha. he was a decent guy and he gave me an generous offer. the engine has 30,000 miles on the odometer and i only paid $2,800 but the body that isnt aftermarket has 120,000 along with my transmission. my dads friend says that i have a "cyclone" engine but he said it was weird cause i didnt have the right intake manifold. i guess my car is just mysterious like that. but ya bud you should really come check it out and help me install this clutch. deal? please??? XD

Alright since your new, I'll be staight with you..It is a cyclone engine, because cyclone engines were 4g63's..Secondly a cyclone engine came with a different intake manifold and a turbo.3rd you can't call it a cyclone engine because they were like I said turbo'd and have a different intake manifold..Also it's a n/t which means you dont have low compresion like us turbo guys..

The engine might only have 30k on it but you don't know that for sure..

Also I paid about the same and I got mine with less than 80k...LOL, Just rub that in your face a little bit..

I'd really love to come up but you like 40 min past Madison..And I only head to Madison a couple times a year..

If you want to see what a cyclone manifold looks like, click my classifieds add..

sad news... but cant you order an engine without a turbo i mean the turbo goes on the exhaust manifold with is not part of the block. is it possible for me to have a turbo ready block just lacking the the intake and the turbo accessories. cause when i had my friend check out my car he put a tool in my cylinder like where my spark plug is. he said i had a low psi in cylinder. i also know that my oil pressure gauge never really goes past half way. it fluctuates, but its always either less than the suggested levels or just within them.

its too bad you cant come im about 20miles north of madison ya, but if you did install my clutch i would pay you. cause... if i dont figure this shit out by friday im pushing it down the road to my gf's unles where he was gonna fix if for $500 =;( i really cant afford that much... plus i dont want him to work on my car but its immobile

ya i see your cyclone intake looks way different ha. would that even fit my car? i mean id be interested in buying it then.

Those intakes are made for a turbo car and wouldn't really help you at all unless you had a large turbo..

To turbo your car, it would be very easy..But you could only run minimal boost on n/t internals..

Your friend did a compression check I'm guessing is the thing he stuck in the spark plug hole..What were the numbers on that? Without the compression test number I cannot tell you the condition your engine is actually in..As long as there is not one cylinder that is waay lower than the others, you should be good to go..

Your only 20 miles from Mad town..That's actually not that far.It looked like on google maps that you were a bit farther.Although, getting through mad town is always a challenge..But I can't a do a clutch with the basic tools I have..And 500 bux sounds a little high for a clutch change..My buddy got his clutch, and power steering pump done, for around 350..I would offer him less than 350 for just a clutch change and a few hours of his time..

Yeah, thats ~$100/hr.. you can take it to a shop and get warrantied work for that price... What kind of uncle doesn't give his neice's bf a discount... My uncle would help my gf out for a case of beer or something

Unless the guy is just giving you that price cause he doesn't like the OP..LOL

But still a hundred an hour..That's steap, and more like a dealership price..

Bring a cold 30 pack on ice..And I bet he changes his tune..

Why no City in your profile, red99gs?

It's not all WI dsmer on widsm.org..Theres a few people from Illinois, but here very near the border so it's cool..You don't need to register on widsm.com, that's all the people banned from .org..On .org that's all the OG members basically..

I'm on both tho..Also most of the people on both are farther than an hour from us..I don't really frequent either of them..Since most of the people are farther away than I would like to travel..

Also bmoha, Could you drive up and help with his clutch or at least get off his lug nuts?

On Stoughton rd?

yep i had my buddy andy take a look at it on stoughton road. he owns that big boys rims store over by where it was parked. did you see me driving... well barely i had to turn of my car to change gears LOL it was an adventure.... but i moved it from andys to my gfs in fall river 30miles away. VERY SKETCHY ROFL

small world

I have Gorilla lugnuts. Just take them off with a 17mm socket and be done with it.
Also try joining Widsm.org It's all WI dsmers.

i just registered and today and i found a tool on my porch this morning sooo.. ty whoever that was ha :D if your on here otherwise it might be a coworkers. i was very worried about stripping them as all i had was a 17mm for a 1/4 inch drive 6 point socket but with this tool i think im good. il be working on it sunday if anyones interested send me a message.

ya i think it was a co-worker not anyone online cause he had mentioned that his dad had special lugs that were the same as what i described. i haven't confirmed this yet but i doubt anyone on here could have found my address.
