Cannot remove cv shaft from transmission

I have tried pry bars, Screwdrivers, pulled at it banged at it you name it, Can someone please help me get this out....

It can be a pain but just use a big screw driver or pry bar at a good angle underneath the car probably have to remove that cross member so you can get more grunt underneath. I just replaced mine a few months ago and was like what the heck I am gonna break the housing but then I removed the cross member got at it from underneath and wedged my big screw driver in there used a rubber mallet to hit the screwdriver and pop out she came. There is a snap ring that hold's it in place.

A big screwdriver or prybar while turning that joint cup is all it takes. You see, there is a tension clip with a split in it that holds it in the trans. Turning it will cause the clip to begin to disengage, then prying will allow it to come out. It is a pita on the floor, if you have access to a lift, use it. Plus the benefit of having more room to maneuver allows for a bigger prybar, better angle, and being able to apply the sharp pressure that will cause that cup to fly across the shop. Lol. Two prybar, one friend and use an metal hammer on the CV for disengage...
The vibration procured by the hammer help a lot !

Big pry bar and turning the cup will do the job, If it doesn't, then use 2 pry bars, and it has to come out....

Im surprised so many people use one prybar. Thats a little risky in my eyes. The way i have done it, use two good sized flat head screw drivers, or two prybars. What you need to do is put equal pulling force on both sides 180 degrees apart from each other, youll be surprised how little force it takes to remove it. Dont pry on one side too hard, as you risk breaking the trans case, or screwing up bearings inside the trans.

Place the flathead screwdrivers where Ive put the red arrows in your pic. The bottom one will have to be angled slightly to clear the subframe, and you may need to pull the battery to get in through the top. I use one screwdriver, with a 3/8 to 1/2" wide flathead on mine from the bottom, and twist the handle of the screwdriver clockwise to pop the CV loose, rather than prying.

Ahhhh Got it, Wedged one angled pry bar up top, One into the bottom with pressure from my foot and a pair of the HUGE vice grips turning while I pushed. Probably not the best way but it worked .

Now to hope thats whats making the clanking noise and sounding like a part of the suspension is loose.

What I don't understand is how could this clank? Even if the grease was mostly gone its still there and its a pretty tight fit...

Very rarely do the inner joints make noise. The outer is usually the culprit.
