I feel all of us 420a owners need a whole truck full of new parts. the 4g63's have multiple choices and much more reasonable prices.

How come srt4's can produce up to 800hp on basically the same engine ?

How about some new:
piston/rod combo's
IM&TB
Good Exhaust manfiold Turbo and N/t
Cams

Just go all out whole engine rebuild, New mods for 250hp all motor?

Think about how many of us would buy those parts? I certainly would. And all of the other car owners with the 420a who want some more power for their buck without going turbo. Gives newbies more hope to stick with the 420a and not buy a beat on 4g63.

Lets get these parts made so i can buy them :) My 95 gs is non drivable in my driveway...( got ripped off)

First off my car(which is technically domestic) does beat many other cars all motor. Secondly you want mods to push 250 all motor when the record holder only pushes a 218. LOL you aren't asking for much. Lastly, we will never have a simple reliable bolt on 400hp system. Not for the reason of turbos and etc, but because for most engines out there to hand that much boost they will need stronger internals, not to mention the tuning to have a reliable set up and once our cars hit around the 200+ mark its time to start upgrading the fuel system.

While I do like your enthusiasm and agree that more options would be nice, most of the options you listed are already covered. Cams, we have a great choice between crower and crane which work amazing. Exhasut manifold for N/T the 4-2-1 is amazing, but yes for real power we have to get custom made LTH's. IM's this department is lacking largely, for a good one, you have to get them custom made as well, thankfull for us, AMM is an amazing crafter and takes orders. TB, we have a super cheap jeep mod, and between 55-57,60 (65 if u are set up for it) not sure what you are looking for there.

250hp isnt asking much at all, what would is seriously take for some new custom parts to make an extra 20-30 horsepower? I personally would love a supercharger to be made for the 420a. More of the lines of all motor since they are belt driven and theres no lag. they bolt on and increase horsepower similar to the turbo.

of course we all do our strong rods and pistons and built up heads. Why would is be so hard to make 250 or close to it? and affordable at that.

400hp is just right for a lot of us DSM guys. More power, style..etc and under 15-35g's for another 4cylinder off the lot. i personally like the EVO's but i would never in my life buy one for 36,950+tax n title. for 350hp. thats just me.

400hp wouldnt be hard at all. For example Better rod pistons, built head, cams all that get around 250hp. another 150hp you can get with high compression pistons and a not so heavy duty turbo. say a b16g turbo would easily get you at 400hp easily. and having all that extra power under your foot will get ya scooting until boost hits.

Sooo why not take some 420a and srt4 a855? or whatever it is. and compare them, see how their different and how we can mod there parts to make parts for ours to build horsepower like them?

Basic stuff will need upgraded. but thats common sense.



oh and another thing, i know were technically domestic with our 420a eclipses since some are stamped on the body make is usa. but its still an import :hellyeah:
 
Ok I think i misread something possibly maybe or you did... 250 whp is super achievable with boost(tubro or super)/spray, but for all motor(no boost of any kind or spray), is a completely different story. Look at all my mods, and I'm only pushing 150. Look at all bullets mods and he is at 218. Granted I do think that he will hit 250 (or close to) with his ITB + 16.0 comp, but that is also not a DD nor is it some simple kit.

I also misunderstood what ya said for a 400whp package. Obviously if you want to go into pistons and cams and etc with a turbo kit 400 is achievable, i thought you made it sound like, just a simple ebay bolt on turbo kit and BAM 400 whp.

Sooo why not take some 420a and srt4 a855? or whatever it is. and compare them, see how their different and how we can mod there parts to make parts for ours to build horsepower like them?

Biggest difference coming to mind is that an srt4 is a 2.4 liter where the 420a is a 2.0 liter, thats a big HP difference in itself, they do make i believe its called a "cloud conversion" or a certain block to make are engines 2.4L.

Trust me a lot of us 420a guys do just as much research here as we do on a neon or mopar website, the thing is, with what you propose with the srt4, or hell even a supercharger, is there just isnt the information out there at the moment.

Most dsm guys go the 4g63, and the 420a is considered the red headed bastard stepchild of the dsm world, and we are learning as we go for the most part (or waiting for bullets next experiments results). There just isnt the funding, or that much of a demand for 420a R&D in the import world sadly. If you are going to take the steps to supercharge a 420a or w/e than I applaud you and wish you luck, as well as will help you out all I can, but at the end of the day, the R&D and funding isnt there for are cars.

I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I just want you to A)know the realistic power (at the moment) of the 420an NA and B) let you know that much of our platform is unexplored territory, which will require much research on are own (for companies to later copy), as well as custom work and testing. Hell DSM-Zero just set the 661hp world record not even a year ago for are engine.
 
I totally understand what you saying. I just felt the need to see if anyone would feel the same way i do. I have seen a few of the 2.4l 420a hybrids or whatever they are that look pretty sweet. thats a good thought but i havent really researched anything on them. a supercharger would be ideal for me. as far as i know of it would be one of a kind and reliable. I would deff. love some parts for an extra increase to put us 420a guys with the same power as around the 2.4l sohc. without changing over to the 4g64 swap.


I actually messaged DSM ZERO on youtube and he recently added that he hit 737hp. I dont wanna doubt him or talk him up. Thats from him directly.

im sick of that damn light flickering everytime my car warms up.

Wow that's great for him and our community. My only complaint is that he has basically dissapeared form here and 2GNT, things like that need to be shared with the community. We need these record holders to help share their secrets to advance the community as a whole.
 
I would like to see some turbo manifolds that have something other than a T3 flange. For someone like me a T3/T4 is to big for the amount of boost I'm running, I think some 16G flanges would be more beneficial.
 
Yea that is great for our nt community. he also stated that he has over 50k into it. thats what puzzles me the most. I find it hard to believe that there is over 50,000 dollars in that car right now. I believe that he can have that invested trying to make the right combo parts to make as much hp but it puzzles me.

On other news, I called about the 420a eclipse thats been at this ghetto over priced car lot here in lorain. it needs a motor/motor work. Lady said like 300 bucks... good deal right? well heres what i like the best. the body is equipped with a body kit thats poorly done and beat up cheap but still decent looking rims. the hatch is beat up n bent. oh yea and wait. the car only has 45k on all of it :) i get my savings bonds on the 22nd. can anyone say fresh motor for my car?
 
Not to thread hi-jack but are you sure it needs a new motor or is she telling you that? For 45k miles, you might get lucky and have it be some simple fix.

Lol, we chatted on the way back home from the SO (speak of the devil right?). Power numbers are correct. He has also lowered his 1/4 time.

But I am also disappointed in his "no post".

But, I guess, to each his own.

Well the first guy i talked to said he heard it needed a motor and by the looks of it they have the exhaust unbolted. coil pack just resting on it. and the pass side motor mount off so its sagging. who knows how much its tweakin out right now. but the interior is solid besides the ricer paint job. (like someone just sprayed the outside blue) im hoping its something simple. the car is pretty solid besides the chewed up hatch. and crappy bodykit.
