We are currently looking into what drivers of the 420A platform are looking for part wise?

- Are there parts you wish someone made but havent found it yet?

- Are there parts you would like to see listed on our website such as engine, exhaust, ect?

Basically we want all of your input in what we can do to help in the 420A performance
market.

Mike

I would love if there was all together alot more assortment of parts. For example, i'm looking into pistons and i really only have 3-4 good choices. Also turbo headers for are car are kind of hard to come by. Decent headers that is. This is a great idea tho and i'm sure everyone else would agree!

+2 on exhaust/intake manifolds.

*heat shields

*some quality egr block off plates

*some top end rebuild kits

*bottom end rebuild kits

* torque converters

I would like to get a clear time cover for the 420a, never seen one made for the 420a.

Alternative LSD???

+1000 on the intake manifold as others mentioned, something we need.

There is a huge market opportunity for a tubular manifold, I like the manifold you guys have for the 4g63 on y'all site, but only if it had a 420a flange around the same price and the dump tube on the opposite side, there would be a huge demand. The only tubular manifolds we have at the moment are the OBX ram horn which has fitment issues for some.

EDIT: would be nice if the tubular manifold had a connecting 3" flex section/downpipe from the turbo to the exhaust.

ITB set up.. or at least a how to on rewiring the tps.

Cimotorsports has offered egr kits for years.... but they havent offered them powder coated!! just a thought

a ram horn turbo manifold that does not require modding the thermostat housing

Blank valve covers with the letters removed and a punishment racing plate put over the letters

a 4 gauge a pillar.... more for 2gs in general..... i don't understand why the wrx or sti are the only ones who have these

evo 4-8 motor swap kits...
srt 4 motor swap kits....

the last 2 are more like a child asking for a pony on Christmas, but you never know

+2 on the alternative lsd. The only choices we have anymore are between quaife(which is great quality, but expensive) and the phantom grip(which imo and what I hear is crap).

+2 on the intake manifold. The only ones offered are made by Venom and Obx(which has poor manufacturing defects). Only others I know of are custom made.

+2 on tubular turbo manifolds. Obx makes the only ones and like it was stated before you have to modify the thermostat housing for it to even work. All other tubular mani's are custom made by 2gnt owners looking for something better than the obx.

Just my .02 cents, but if there are more choices out there than i'm aware of it would be great to find out about them.

A intake manifold would be nice and more tubular exhaust manifolds at decent prices. Symtech has a race exhaust manifold for the 420a. Also cheaper axles would be great also.

+1 on the cheaper axles

Just a question: Has anyone EVER heard or seen anything for a dogbox transmission for the 420A? Wouldn't neon transmission work too? I've never seen one except for the SRT-4, but it doubt that would match up.

Thank you guys for all of you input, it is very informative. We are looking into making Manifolds, Intake and Exhaust. I have started to add stuff to the website, it will be a while before we have it complete. However please let me know what else you guys are looking for.

Thank You,

Mike

Has anyone EVER heard or seen anything for a dogbox transmission for the 420A?

I read on the srt forums a while back that rage-tek(also a dsmtuners member) was experimenting with a dogbox tranny setup for there turbo 420a drag car. I haven't heard anything else about it since, but they are the only ones I know of who have explored it.

Also, I just saw on ebay where they do sell timing, alternator and power steering belts made my gates racing.

+1 on other axle options. I've read where the fidanza axles don't work well on our cars due to a problem with there length or fitment in the tranny I believe. DSS is the only option we have as of now. Great quality and expensive. But, you get what you pay for.

Another thing I think that would be great are alternative hi-perf. radiator hoses. Gates Racing makes exceptional ones at a good price. But a while back a 2gnt.com member got in touch with samco and had them make a short production run of hoses for our car. Not sure if there still offered, but it would be nice to have a little more variety.

These other guys all make great requests, some less realistic than others. Anything you guys add at all would be a welcomed improvement over our current options.

You guys do amazing things with a fab shop - seeing some T3 tube manifold, NT header, and short runner IM options would be awesome.

South Bend Clutch is the preferred performance clutch company for high power 420a's. Perhaps an SBC offering?

Bravo for broadening your market!

For the turbo manifolds, also having it flanged and fitment for a Mitsu style would also help out some. Especially on this site where it is overpowered by 4g63's, people can pick up 14b's and 16g's for cheap. But then they'd have to go look for a T3 hotside for it and it's not too easy. Plus, I'm sure it would look kick ass like everything else out of your shop :thumb:

Good choice from what I hear "out there". A long tube header for the NA crowd (seeing as how everybody else gets to have one, why can't we :D). Definitely a possibility to make as a production for a daily driver.

While I would love to see something as good as DSS's for less, I don't think that would be financially feasible for you. But I think maybe an ERT style LSD is a possibility for you. Instead of going into a description, I'll post a link; 2GNT.com - Retrofit_LSD
Now this company made a great product. I still run mine in the NA. Unfortunately, they decided to take some people's money and run (for whatever reason). That doesn't change the fact that this was a viable alternative to shelling out the cash for a Quaife (the PG is NOT a viable alternative). I bought mine for $350 with core (group buy). I'm thinking there is a market out there at that price range, due to the people that shell out cash for that piece of crap OBX (of which I was one of them).

As for cams, Crower actually has a pretty good hold on the market (especially with Crane out of the way). Don't know if you could distrubute them at the CI price but with good service (of course, I would suggest that you make a set of cams, say intake 486 lift x 264duration and exhaust 482 lift x 260 duration at a reasonable price. I could just about guarantee you that you could sell a set :p)

A plug and play tuner is certainly something that gets a lot of traction out there. PnP MSnS has been in development for quite some time, but has not made it out yet. Don't know what position you could take on that. The AFX ECU is also a great alternative for a plug and play "tuner". Though not quite as adaptable (and not as many options) as the MSnS. Though it did an excellent job in a comparison test that I did on the dyno. Unfortunately, that is locked up by Howell (one more of the companies out there that can't seem to serve their customers properly). Don't know what you can do to free up that guy who does these for Gary :hmm:.

While a Dogbox tranny and ITB's would be nice, I think this would be a very limited buyer base, for the price that you would have to sell them for.

EDM95's suggestion about the clear timing covers for the 420a might be a good "bling" type seller, depending on cost of production. Speaking of which, I'll leave that subject up to you. All the little chrome do-dads are not my cup of tea. But I would think that you may want to look into those for a selling base. I'm a function not form guy, LOL.

The Modern Performance 60mm TB pretty much has the market cornered. If you don't go modified Jeep (or other TB's modified), they are the only choice. Don't know what you can come up with to compete against them.

Idk, if that helps you any. Just my thoughts on some stuff.

Biggest thing for me like others have listed is a good turbo manifold and a sheetmetal intake manifold.
Thank you for coming out and asking us this, believe me I have emailed plenty of people and the answer I continue to get is..."not a big enough market" So THANKS for stepping up.
