Broken axle or Bad clutch

Im currently looking at a 1991 gsx with 90.000 miles, the only problem is almost a loss of power, the wheels dont get anything from the motor, the trans shifts fine, but it almost seems like the clutch disengages sometimes and then reingages, possibly an axles popping out? Any input would be appreciated

If an axle popped out it would trash everything around it. Sounds like a slipping clutch. In gear does it just rev but hardly go. Like if you start going up a hill or somethin or as soon as it starts to boost do the rpms just shoot up?

this is old but i pretty much have the same issues.. power loss, my engine revs strong and my boost guage stays at 14 until i let off but in 1st and 2nd when i step on it it seems like the wheels arent moving as fast as it sounds but my steering will move a lil like it wants to then doesnt and does and doesnt..???? anyone make anything fromn this? im thinkin maybe the axle is worn on the splines
